Second Collection Next Weekend

Next weekend, the annual collection for The Catholic Univer-sity of America and the Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Greensburg will be taken during all Masses across the diocese. Like the Catholic University, our diocesan schools are an as-set to the community in such a way that they prepare future leaders for the Church and the nation. Please be generous!

Volunteers are Needed!

The mission of Open Your Heart to a Senior (formerly Faith in Action) is to extend the ability of adults over the age of 60 to live safely and independently in their homes. That independ-ence can be measured by avoiding the needs for long-term care, such as assisted living or nursing home care. Volunteers provide a range of non-medical services for free, that include escorted transportation to appointments and shop-ping, caregiver relief, supportive home visits, telephone reas-surance calls, home safety checks, errands and grocery shop-ping. Service is currently available in New Kensington, Arnold, Lower & Upper Burrell, Vandergrift and Allegheny Township. Volunteers receive training and support, and average 2-3 hours of service per week. Please consider volunteering to provide this meaningful service to a senior neighbor in need. For more information about receiving services or volunteering to help, please contact Open Your Heart to a Senior at 724-224-3199 or [email protected].
