Please help us give a warm welcome to our
New Pastoral Associate, Sindy Collazo.
Come and meet her at a recepon following every
Mass this weekend.
Also new to our Parish Staff is
Paula Perry, who is supplying our
Religious Educaon
Department with the extra hands
that are so needed!! Say hello to
her when you see her around
campus!! Welcome Paula!
I am without words to describe my gratude to all
those who worked so hard to make Sunday’s
celebraon heavenly. For all those whose kind words
and generosity filled my heart to the brim, to the
Amazing Music Ministry who gave us a sneak preview
of what the heavenly choir sounds like, to the
Incredible 40th Anniversary Commi/ee and
Subcommi/ees, the Knights who always come to our
rescue, to all my Treasured Parish Family Members
who always make our guests welcome, important and
at home at St Mary’s and my dedicated, generous,
loving staff who always go beyond the call of duty and
whose hardest task is to constantly make me look
good. I love you all and am forever grateful to all those
who worked behind the scenes to help pull it all
together. Father Tim

Grief brings out many powerful emo3ons including sadness,
anger, guilt, regret and some3mes even relief. Everyone grieves
in their own unique way, at their own pace. This seminar is
designed to assist individuals through their experience of loss, and
the journey following the death of a spouse or partner. We will
discuss the physical, emo0onal and spiritual aspects of grief that
are unique to this type of loss. We will share ideas on how to
support, cope and care for ourselves as we move toward healing
in your personal grief journey.

AJer today’s readings, we can’t say
we have not been warned about the
dangers of mixed up priori3es. God’s
Word is so very clear today on the
necessity of puVng Him first in all
areas of our lives. We see this in the
First Reading from Amos. The Lord
has harsh words for those who
would take advantage of the poor, and whose priori3es are not
aligned with God’s. In the Second Reading from St. Paul’s leOer to
Timothy, Paul gives us the an3dote to the selfcenteredness
condemned in our First Reading. The an3dote is to imitate Christ,
“who gave Himself as a ransom for all.” Rather than thinking of
Himself and how to “get ahead,” Christ gave Himself away
completely for our sake. That is how we are to live. In our
Gospel passage from Luke, the Lord shows us how to bridge the
gap between worldly thinking and priori3es, and eternal thinking
and priori3es. Jesus tells the parable of the corrupt but clever
steward who is about the get fired when the master discovers the
steward has been squandering his property. Realizing his
imminent unemployed status, the clever steward reaches out to
the various debtors of his master to wheel and deal with them,
making friends who would look out for him when he became
jobless. What if we put that kind of effort into our own tasks as
good stewards of all God’s giJs to us? Into our ministries, into the
ways we could make more 3me for prayer as individuals, as
couples, as families and as a parish? What if we got as crea3ve as
the “bad steward” in the use of our finances so that we could give
more generously to the poor and to the advancement of God’s
kingdom on the earth? That’s our lesson and our challenge.
