WELCOME TO ROBERTO MAURICIO Roberto is St. Michael’s new caretaker who began in his position last week. He brings with him much experience working with the Dufferin-Peel School Board and other maintenance positions. We welcome him to our parish team! Prayer & Life Workshop The Prayer and Life Workshops are a series of sessions where a participant learns to pray with different methods of deep prayer, step by step. At the same time, participants learn to transform their lives with the help of the Word of God. Sessions include various prayer methods such as prayerful reading, visual prayer, and contemplative prayer. At St. Michael's Church, the opening session of the workshop will be Wednesday August 23rd, 2017 at 7:00 pm. Pre-registration is now open! For more information and to register online visit www.tovpil.ca/ontario. You may also call the parish office at 905-844-7971 or your Workshop Guides: Pedro Gutierrez at 647-994-9432 or Maria Doucet at 416-839-1232.
A Place of Participation In our parish, everyone has an active part to play. We cannot fulfill our mission unless we
work together under the guidance of our pastor. We are part of a larger family, the
universal church. We work always in communion with Our Holy Father and our
Bishop.
For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same
function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of
another. - Romans 12:4,5
FIVE SATURDAYS OF REPARATION TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY As is our custom, we invite parishioners to make the Consecration to Mary at a special Mass to be celebrated on December 8th, Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Many parishioners are also celebrating the 5 Saturdays of Reparation to the Immaculate Heart as a way of preparing for the consecration. Our Lord Jesus asked Sister Lucia (one of the children who witnessed our Lady at Fatima) to attend the Holy Mass the first Saturday of the month, for 5 consecutive months, having prior confession to receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist in a state of Grace. The intention is to console the Immaculate Heart of Mary and to make reparation for the blasphemies against:
1. Her Immaculate Conception. 2. Her virginity 3. Her divine maternity, refusing at the same time to receive her as the Mother of mankind. 4. Those who try to instill in the hearts of children the indifference, scorn and even hatred of the Immaculate Mother in public. 5. Those who insult directly her sacred images.
In our parish of St. Michael we begin the first Saturday of August, as the first Saturday of Reparation with the Holy Mass at 9:00 am, in preparation for the Consecration and Renewal to the Immaculate Heart of the Virgin. If you did not attend in the month of August, you can start it on Saturday, September 2nd At St. Michael’s we will be praying the Rosary each Saturday after the Holy Mass. More information about the consecration to Mary will come in the future.
