Sports have a built in attraction. No matter how many times you play a game, each time you play it is dif-ferent. Previous play does not dictate how well you will play today. Each game is unique, offering its own challenges, victories and defeats. In a team sport, or by yourself, it’s all about how well you play that game. Lent presents its own unique challenges. No matter how often you’ve been through this before, there is always something you can do differently, or some-thing you can improve upon. There is no one perfect way to achieve holiness or grow in faith. We can on-ly do our best and trust that God will do the rest. Don’t lose hope. If you catch yourself failing, start again. If you are struggling, ask for help. If you need encouragement, talk to others. Turn to those you love and work together to overcome the obstacles and dif-ficulties that hold you back. Lent is not just a solo activity. We make the journey together. Success is not about finishing the 40 days, but how well you worked each day. Use Lent to defeat evil and see the victory of Easter Day.

Volunteers for Jesus Volunteers needed for maintaining and beauti-fying our lawns, parking lots, and surround-ing areas. We meet on Saturday at 8 AM in
front of the garage next to the rectory.
Voluntarios para Jesús Necesitamos voluntarios para ayudar a man-tener limpio los alrededores de la iglesia y el
jardín. Nos reunimos los Sábados 8AM frente al garaje al lado de la rectoría.
El evangelio de la Transfi-guración, en los evangelios tienen espe-cial relevan-cia. No sabe-mos que ocu-
rrió realmente, pero sí que los evangelis-tas dan gran importancia a la transforma-ción del rostro de Jesús.
Hablan los profetas y Jesús, pero sólo el rostro del Señor es el que está resplande-ciente. Los discípulos no dan importan-cia a ese momento tan especial y tam-poco a Jesús el Hijo de Dios. Pero cuando Pedro quiere hacer tres tien-das la voz del Padre lo corrige revelan-do quién es Jesús. Es el Hijo de Dios, aquel que tiene el rostro resplandeciente. Nadie puede confundirlo con un gran profeta, porque sólo al Hijo de Dios de-bemos escuchar y seguir. Como comunidad, como Iglesia debemos recuperar la experiencia de reconocer a Jesús y vivir conforme a su palabra. Tres de los cuatros evangelistas nos recuer-dan el evangelio de la Transfiguración. Tenemos que sentirnos atraídos por Jesús al igual que los primeros cristianos se sintieron atraídos por él y le siguieron. En esta Cuaresma, estemos atentos, escuchemos con áni-mo de cambiar, de parecer-nos cada día más a Jesús. Có-mo Iglesia tengamos un seguimiento de Jesús au-téntico, para que otros se sientan atraídos y se acer-quen a la comunidad con el deseo de cambiar y cono-cer el verdadero rostro de Dios a través de su Hijo Je-sús.

MÙA CHAY C
BÀI ĐỌC 1: St 15,5-12.17-18 Các bài đọc Cựu Ước từ Chúa nhật II Mùa Chay trở đi tuần tự nhắc lại những chặng đường quan trọng của Lịch sử Cứu độ. Hôm nay, đoạn sách Sáng thế đề cập đến chặng đầu tiên : Thiên Chúa kết giao ước với Abraham. Nhân loại cũ do nguyên tổ Ađam kể như đã hư mất vì tội lỗi. Thiên Chúa quyết định thành lập một nhân loại mới bắt đầu từ Abraham. Nếu Abraham chọn Thiên Chúa là Chúa của mình và tin vào Ngài, thì Thiên Chúa sẽ là Đấng bảo vệ ông, Ngài sẽ làm cho có một dòng dõi đông đức, là dân riêng của Ngài. Giao ước được ký kết theo nghi thức thời xưa : Một số con vật được xẻ đôi đặt ở hai bên ; những người kết ước đi giữa những con vật xẻ đôi ấy, ngụ ý rằng nếu không tuân giữ giao ước thì cũng sẽ bị chết phanh thây như những con vật ấy. Trong bài tường thuật này, chỉ có Thiên Chúa (được tượng trưng bởi lửa và khói) đi qua những con vật ấy, Abraham không đi qua, bởi vì đây là giao ước đơn phương : chỉ mình Thiên Chúa cam kết thôi. Hình ảnh những mãnh cầm tượng trưng cho những thế lục thù địch. Chúng xà xuống trên những con vật để phá việc ký kết giao ước ấy. Nhưng Abraham đã xua đuổi được chúng.
ĐÁP CA: TV 26 BÀI ĐỌC 2: Pl 3,17- 4,1 Mở đầu trích đoạn này, Phaolô kêu gọi tín hữu Philipphê hãy noi gương bắt chước Ngài. Sở dị Phaolô dám kêu gọi như thế vì Phaolô cũng đã bắt chước tổ phụ Abraham, đặt trọn niềm tin tưởng cậy trông nơi Thiên Chúa. Phaolô còn khuyến khích rằng nếu chúng ta đặt trọn niềm tin tưởng cậy trông nơi Thiên Chúa thì Ngài sẽ dùng quyền năng của Ngài mà chế ngự tất cả những yếu đuối của thân phận con người và biến đổi chúng ta thành vinh hiển như Ngài.
TUNG HÔ TIN MỪNG: Từ trong đám mây sáng chói, tiếng Chúa Cha phán rằng: “Đây là Con Ta rất yêu dấu, các ngươi hãy nghe lời người”.
PHÚC ÂM: Lc 9,28-36 Chúng ta nên để ý tới bối cảnh của việc Chúa Giêsu biến hình: 1. Ngài biến đổi hình dạng ra vinh quang sáng láng đang lúc cầu nguyện. 2. Có một số chi tiết cho thấy cuộc biến hình này có liên quan tới việc Chúa Giêsu chịu chết và sống lại: - Việc biến hình xảy ra "khoảng 8 ngày sau", tức là sau việc Ngài báo tin chịu nạn lần thứ nhất (xem Lc 9,22) - Hai ông Môsê và Êlia đàm đạo với Ngài "về cuộc xuất hành Ngài sắp hoàn thành tại Giêrusalem. - Tiếng Chúa Cha từ trời phán "Đây là Con Ta, người Ta tuyển chọn" là trích những đoạn Cựu Ước nói về Người Tôi Tớ của Giavê chịu khổ để chuộc tội cho loài người. Như thế Chúa Giêsu hôm nay biến hình để cho 3 môn đệ thân tín thấy trước một chút vinh quang thật của Ngài, nhờ đó các ông sẽ đỡ hoang mang khi sau này thấy Ngài chịu nạn chịu chết.

a/ Biến đổi Một người bán gỗ cho xưởng mộc. Anh thường thủ lợi bằng cách đo gỗ thiếu. Ngày kia, có tin đồn đến xưởng là anh ta nhập đạo. Nghe thấy thế, mọi người bán tín bán nghi rồi bàn thảo mỗi người mỗi ý. Có một người lặng lẽ ra kho gỗ, một lúc
sau trở vào dõng dạc tuyên bố: - Đúng, anh ta nhập đạo thật. - Sao anh biết? - Tôi vừa xem lại số gỗ anh ta chở tới hôm qua. Tôi thấy là đúng với qui cách ta đặt, không thiếu nữa. Người nào tiếp nhận đức Kitô cũng phải thay đổi cuộc đời và sống ngay chính.
b/ Đổi tiền Đến nước khác, việc đầu tiên mà du khách phải làm là đổi tiền của mình thành tiền đang lưu hành tại nước đó. Tiền của ta trên trái đất chẳng có giá trị gì trên trời, nếu nó không đổi thành việc lành. Đó là ý nghiã Lời Chúa nói với chàng thanh niên giầu có : cho đi gia sản của anh để mua Nước Trời.
Suy Niệm: Sự kiện biến hình xảy ra khoảng một tuần sau khi Ðức Giêsu báo trước cuộc thương khó và cái chết của Ngài, nhằm củng cố niềm tin nơi các môn đệ để các ông có thể can đảm theo Chúa trên con đường khổ giá. Sự hiện diện của hai nhân vật trong Cựu Ước: Môisê và Êlia để khẳng định việc Ðức Giêsu chịu khổ nạn và đi vào vinh quang nằm trong chương trình cứu độ của Thiên Chúa mà Thánh Kinh đã loan báo. Cầu Nguyện: Lạy Chúa Giêsu, xưa Chúa đã tỏ vinh quang của Chúa để tăng sức cho các môn đệ. Xin Chúa củng cố niềm tin cho chúng con, để khi gặp gian nan, thử thách, chúng con không ngã lòng thất vọng nhưng sẵn sàng đón nhận và can đảm dấn thân theo Chúa. Amen.
