Make every Sunday the Lord’s Day
Why do Catholics believe the pope is infallible?

As visible head of the Church on earth, the pope has the gift of infallibility. This means that by gift of the Holy Spirit, the pope can’t err in teaching the faith. That’s not to say that a pope is a perfect person. This gift of the Holy Spirit helps the pope, and the bishops
with him, guide the Church in staying faithful to Christ. The pope is only infallible when he solemnly declares a teaching on faith and morals as St. Peter’s successor (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #890-891).
“This is the day the Lord has made: let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). God wants us to have a day of rest each week. He felt it was so necessary that he made it a Commandment. While it is non-negotiable for God’s people, a busy person may find it hard to do Sunday right. Try these tips for making Sunday the Lord’s Day: Attend Mass. Both Jesus’ Resurrection and Pentecost occurred on Sunday. There’s no better way to celebrate the Lord’s Day than to worship him during Mass on Sunday. Schedule chores. It’s not very restful to stand in line at the grocery store or change the oil in your car. Try to
accomplish chores and errands another day so you can spend time
relaxing on Sunday. Alternate entertainment. Instead of turning on the TV or zoning on the smartphone, take a nice long drive, curl up with a good book, or visit friends or family. Do whatever it takes to recharge your spirit. Create a unique prayer habit. Offer prayers that you only say on Sundays. Read Scripture. Listen to sacred music. Take time to thank God for your blessings. Protect the day. Make
Sunday a priority. Don’t let anything interfere with your rest, peace, or worship. Let the Holy Spirit guide your day.
St. Jerome EmilianiSt. Jerome led a
wayward life while a soldier until he was
captured in battle and turned back to God. Soon after returning to Venice, he began studying for the priesthood and was ordained in 1518. With the devastation from the war came famine and plague. At his own expense, St. Jerome cared for the victims left behind, especially the children. For this purpose, he and some companions founded the Clerks Regulars of Somascha, in Somascha, Italy.
Make it a good day A good day is one spent in God’s presence. Start the morning by offering your efforts to God. Throughout the day, look for evidence of his nearness to you as you go about your business. Don’t let minor irritants affect your mood.

Que cada domingo sea el Día del Señor
¿Por qué creen los católicosque el papa es infalible?
Como cabeza visible de la Iglesia en la Tierra, el papa tiene el don de la infalibilidad. Esto significa que por el don del Espíritu Santo, el papa no puede equivocarse en la enseñanza de la fe. Esto no quiere decir que el papa sea una persona perfecta. Este don del Espíritu Santo ayuda al papa, y con él a
los obispos, a guiar a la Iglesia para que se mantenga fiel a Cristo. El papa es sólo infalible cuando enseña con solemnidad la doctrina en cuestiones de fe y de moral como sucesor de san Pedro (Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica, #890-891).
“¡Éste es el día que hizo Yahvé, exultémonos y gocémonos en él!” (Salmo 118:24). Dios quiere que cada semana tengamos un día de descanso. Le parecía tan necesario que lo convirtió en uno de los Mandamientos. Aunque para el pueblo de Dios esto no es negociable, a una persona ocupada puede resultarle difícil hacer lo debido el domingo. Ponga en práctica estos consejos para hacer del domingo el Día del Señor: Vaya a misa. Tanto la Resurrección de Jesús como Pentecostés tuvieron lugar en domingo. No hay mejor forma de celebrar el Día del Señor que alabarlo durante la misa dominical. Haga un horario para sus quehaceres. No se descansa mientras esperamos en la fila del supermercado o cambiamos el
aceite del auto. Procure completar los quehaceres y mandados otro día para
poder relajarse el domingo. Cambie de
entretenimiento. En lugar de encender la TV o ensimismarse con el celular, dé un largo y bonito paseo con el auto, siéntese cómodamente con un libro o visite a amigos o familiares. Haga lo necesario para recargar su espíritu. Cree un hábito de
oración especial. Ofrezca plegarias que diga sólo los domingos. Lea la Sagrada Escritura. Escuche música sacra. Dedique tiempo a agradecerle a Dios sus bendiciones. Proteja el día. Dé
prioridad al domingo. No permita que nada interrumpa su descanso, su paz o sus plegarias. Deje que el Espíritu Santo guíe su día.
San Jerónimo Emiliani San Jerónimo vivió una vida disoluta como
soldado hasta que fue capturado en una batalla y se convirtió a Dios. Nada más regresar a Venecia empezó a estudiar para el sacerdocio y fue ordenado en 1518. Tras la devastación de la guerra llegaron el hambre y la peste. San Jerónimo pagó de su dinero el cuidado de las víctimas, especialmente de los niños. Para esto fundó con algunos compañeros la Orden de los Clérigos Regulares de Somasca, en Somasca, Italia.
Que sea un buen día Un buen día es uno vivido en la presencia de Dios. Empiece la mañana ofreciendo sus esfuerzos a Dios. A lo largo del día busque pruebas de lo cerca que está de usted mientras se encarga de sus ocupaciones. No permita que las pequeñas irritaciones influyan en su estado de ánimo.

This spring St. Paul’s is offering an adult confirmation class in preparation for confirmation in May. This class is for active adult Catholics who have been baptized but have not received the sacrament of confirmation. The initial
