STEWARDSHIP THOUGHT:
“What profit would there be for one to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?” - Matthew 16:26
St. Francis of Assisi once said, “Remember, you are what you are in the eyes of God, and nothing else.” We often forget this stewardship wisdom when we spend all of our time, talent and treasure to gain more of the world’s riches. We need to set our priorities based on God’s values and not the values of the material world.

Dear Friends,
...be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that you may discern….
- Romans 11:29
Our minds are wonderful, but they can be changed – transformed – as we allow the Holy Spirit to influence them with the gospel and Church teaching. It still takes some work on our part – but it’s worth it. Congratulations to Bishop Murry who has been named Chair of the Ad Hoc Committee on Racism for the USCCB. More information can be found at the diocesan website: www.doy.org. Congratulations to Sister Ellen Marie Schlueter, who is visiting her family this weekend in Salem. On September 10, Sister will become a novice, and will continue her studies in Spain. We thank God for her vocation and the support of her family and parishioners. St. Patrick’s Annual Financial Report is in today’s bulletin. St. Paul’s was in last week. Call me for an appointment if you have questions or comments. By the way, if you procrastinated, as I did, in making your pledge or contribution to the Annual Bishops Appeal. You still may do so, we have not met our goals.
Life Ministry Meeting The next Life Ministry meeting will be Friday, September 8th at 9:00 am in the Rectory Meeting Room, because the 1st is Labor Day weekend.
Reminder: St. Paul Parishioners & St. Patrick Parishioners Next week is new Mass Schedule: 4:30 pm, 8:00 am & 12:00 noon at St. Paul 10:00 am at St. Patrick. Spanish Mass will now be at 5:00 pm.
