World Mission Sunday 2019 EXTRAORDINARY MISSIONARY MONTH The Society for the Propagation of the Faith

La Sociedad para la Propagación de la Fe Be Baptized and Sent—on Mission in the World! Today, World Mission Sunday we are called to personal encounter with Jesus Christ alive in the Church, and to offer, through this Eucharistic celebration, our prayers and our generous financial support, through the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, to continue the mission of Jesus. Today we are “sent” out to witness to Mission in the world through our prayers and personal sacrifices for our brothers and sisters around the world. As little as… -> $25 helps support a catechist for a month in remote Latin America -> $75 provides for the work of religious Sisters caring for orphaned children in Africa -> $100 assists poor children in boarding schools in Asia As always, your prayers are your most treasured gift to the Missions. Your prayers and financial help, offered today, WORLD MISSION SUNDAY, support mission priests, religious Sisters and Brothers, and lay catechists who are Christ’s witnesses to a world so in need of His healing, love, and peace.

Adult Ministry and Faith Formation: Because our faith is too rich and too beautiful to have ever learned it all…

Adult faith formation at St Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is centered around the understanding that living “The Way” taught by Jesus Christ is a life-long, evolving journey, involving both effort and

decision. To enable adults to explore the faith and deepen their knowledge of God’s Word, we provide many opportunities to come together in a learning environment. As a diverse community with a small parish feel, we know it is important to walk that journey with others and to share what we have learned along the way.

Women’s Mini Retreat Ladies mark your calendars now for a special spiritual getaway set for Saturday, November 9, from 9 AM to 2 PM featuring special guest presenter Jan Bethancourt who will talk about courage, confidence, and compassion in our daily lives. Celebrate Friendsgiving with Us! Grab your friends and mark your calendars! St. Paul is hosting a wonderful evening celebrating friendships on Saturday, November 23, the week leading up to Thanksgiving. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast of turkey and all the fixings followed by dancing. Stay tuned for more information!

PRO-LIFE News On 10/30/19, Ruben Gutierrez is scheduled to be executed by the State of Texas. The death penalty violates both the Church’s pro-life teaching and the teaching on the inherent dignity of the human person as created in the image and likeness of God. Not only does the death penalty target innocent life, but also those with mental illness, intellectual disability and people of color. It also redirects funds that could be used to help victims’ families harmed by violence heal. (Catholic Mobilizing Network. Planifica tu estrategia para la subasta en vivo del Out Of This World Festival.

The vibrant blues and yellows in the Morning Star prayer quilt represent our Blessed Mother Mary. Just as the morning star appears at the break of dawn reflecting the light of the sun and announcing the beginning of a new day, Mary appeared in salvation history before her Son. She reflects the light of our Creator and Redeemer, exalts His glory and shows us the way to Him.

Creating this quilt was an act of love and of community as the six of us designed and worked on this quilt. We shared time in friendship and in prayer. It is our hope that this quilt blesses St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church through the festival and brings warmth and comfort to whomever wins the bid on it.
