10th Anniversary of Eucharistic Adoration at St. Paul Today Fr. David Bergeron will speak with us in the homily of

the importance of Eucharistic Adoration and the blessings poured out upon us and our Parish as a result of this important devotion. There is a Eucharistic Miracles exhibit in the

Alpha/Delta Room in celebration of 10 years of Perpetual Adoration. You and your family are invited

to view and learn about the power of Jesus Christ's Real Presence in the Most Blessed Sacrament. The display will present a cross section of miracles throughout the centuries, including the 1996 Miracle of Buenos Aires approved by then Cardinal Bergoglio (who, of course, became Pope Francis).

Adult Ministry and Faith formation: Because Our Faith is too rich and beautiful to have ever learned it ALL…

Contact Heidi Clark, Director of Adult Ministry, 281.333.3891, Ext. 328 or [email protected] Adult faith formation at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church is centered around the understanding that living “The Way” taught by Jesus Christ is a life-long, evolving journey, involving both effort and decision. To enable adults to explore the faith and deepen their knowledge of God’s Word, we provide many opportunities to come together in a learning environment. As a diverse community with a small parish feel, we know it is important to walk that journey with others and to share what we have learned along the way.

Revelation Study Starts Wednesday In this study, you’ll learn how the Mass reflects Heaven, the meaning of the mysterious images, and what will happen at the Second Coming. Cost of the 12-week program is $25. Begins this Wednesday, 7 PM. in Room 1.

Learn More about the Divine Mercy Cenacle

October 2 Pope Francis has called for a Holy Year of Mercy to begin December 8, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, and is calling on all Christians to come to a deeper understanding of God’s powerful

mercy and love. In preparation for this, St. Paul’s chapter of the Divine Mercy Cenacle, a group of people who meet weekly for song, prayer, and study, invites everyone to join them for their Friday, October 2, meeting at 7 PM in Room 7 for a viewing of a film about the Divine Mercy.

Young Adults Invited to Theology on Tap

Our Theology on Tap series for young adults continues on Tuesday, October 13, with a presentation by Fr. Alvaro Interiano on conversion. Join us at the Cock and Bull British Pub at 7 PM.

If you knit or crochet, or would like to learn these skills, we invite you to join us. The shawls are provided to those who are ill, isolated, grieving or otherwise in need of being wrapped in our prayers.

Zumba at St. Paul Classes meet in either Beck Hall or Founders Hall, depending on availability.

Thursdays at 6:45 PM and Saturdays at 10 AM

Sr. Helen Prejean at St. Paul

Sr. Helen Prejean visits St. Paul on Monday, October 12, at 7 PM for a presentation entitled: Dead Man Walking: The Journey Continues. By sharing her personal account of working with death row prisoners and witnessing state executions, Prejean hopes to educate the community about the injustice of America’s court systems. Author of the best-selling Dead Man Walking, Prejean was portrayed in the movie by Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon. As the world’s foremost authority against the death penalty, she has actively worked to shape the Catholic Church’s stance on the issue, even to the point of influencing Pope John Paul II to request a revision to the Catholic Catechism. Sr. Helen’s presentation is free and open to the public.

40 Days for Life Christians throughout the Houston Metropolitan area are invited to take part in the national 40 Days for Life effort September 23rd through November 1st. In addition to 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in America, please consider volunteering to pray outside of the Planned Parenthood for one or more hours on St. Paul’s days; Wednesday, September 23rd and/or Wednesday, October 28th. IT’S CATECHETICAL SUNDAY! “It is important for parents to

be the first catechists, the first

their words. The faith is

perhaps the most beautiful

heritage that we can give because it makes you

grow. To help children, boys and girls, young

men, women, and adults to know and to love the

Lord ever more is one of the most beautiful

Pizzas are coming back by popular demand! This was a very successful fundraiser for the ECP last year. For every Little Ceasars Pizza kit

that we sell, our program gets $5. Not to mention that these pizzas tasted REALLY GOOD! We will begin selling them on September 14th with the last day to purchase being October 1st. The kits will be delivered October 8th and you can eat pizza that night for dinner!

Our September school social will be Popsicles with parents. It will be on Thursday and Friday the 24th and 25th. Come join us after school for a parent and child social. Take this opportunity to get to know your fellow parents and let the children play. We will have this event in Beck Hall from 1:30-2:45. Popsicles will be $1 each.

We are looking for a few good teachers! The ECP is looking to fill some substitute teaching positions. Call Vicky at 281.333.0176 or email me at [email protected] for more info.

Ways to help the ECP We take used ink cartridges and turn them in for Office Depot rewards. This helps purchase our ECP office supplies. Labels for Education, these labels can be found on food products such as Campbells soup, Goldfish crackers, Pepperidge Farm products. We turn these in for toys and gift cards to purchase needed items. Thank you for your support!

Junipero Serra Canonization Pope Francis will canonize Blessed Junipero Serra on September 23, 2015, at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.

Father Serra was an 18th century Franciscan friar who left a very comfortable life in Spain to come the New World and share his love of the Gospel. He was so dedicated that he walked thousands of miles across what is now California and Mexico to spread the faith, establishing nine missions along the way.

Juniper Sera is the patron of Serra International and has been since our founding in 1935. Serrans come from all walks of life, but are united by a common mission: to promote, encourage and affirm vocations to the ministerial priesthood and consecrated religious life.

Gracious Father, we thank you for the exemplary life, missionary zeal and loving kindness of your servant, Father Junipero Sera, who entrusted his ministry to the Virgin of Guadalupe and stood firm in the defense of the native peoples. Following his example, may we also look to Our Lady of the Guadalupe, the Star of the New Evangelization, as we proclaim the Gospel in our own day. We ask you, Lord, to bless the Church with abundant vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life, inspiring many to follow Father Serra as humble laborers in your vineyard. Through his intercession, grant that we may see the face of your Son, Jesus, in all those we meet, especially the poor, the marginalized and those who suffer. Amen.
