RELIGIOUS EDUCATION NEWS This Tuesday begins our final week of class. We will

end the year with an assembly in the gym and 30 minutes before the scheduled time ends, we will give out Progress reports to parents. Please make sure to re-register your child for next year. First Communions are: Saturday, May 5th and 12th at 10AM and 12PM. Confirmation is Saturday, May 19th, at 10AM. Please go to the office for more information. Please continue praying for our students. We all need to pray for each other.

PASTORAL COUNCIL Our parish Pastoral Council is planning to add new members to the Council to begin after the summer in September. The Pastoral Council works for the ongoing development of the ministries in our parish. New members will join with our current council when it meets for its’ annual year-end review and planning for the future. Service on the council includes a monthly meeting from September through June and a few hours of committee work between the regular meetings each month. If you would like to serve on the Council, please speak with Fr. Madden.

THANK YOU TO “NO BOUNDARIES” We are grateful for the beautiful parish mission last week on God’s Mercy conducted by No Boundaries Music Ministry: John Festa, Anne Quattrocchi and Catherine Ramirez. God’s mercy transforms our moments of weakness, doubt and sinfulness. The mission offered music, reflections on divine and human mercy, prayer before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and Mass. We thank God for the blessings of our parish mission this year.

FOOD PANTRY Our parishioners contributed $673.00 to our Food Pantry Ministry last Sunday. Our Food Pantry uses these donations to buy food from the Northeast Regional Food Bank which is just north of Albany, N.Y. Dollars for food at the Food Bank buy four or five times as much food at they would in one of our community food markets. In March the Food Bank received $778.00 on Loaves and Fishes Sunday. Hundreds of families benefit from the work of our dedicated Food Pantry volunteers. We thank God that we are able to offer this service to our community and to our brothers and sisters who live with hunger.

BLOOD DRIVE Our parish is not conducting a blood drive in May in our parish. However, one of our parishioners is coordinating a blood drive in Nyack next Monday, May 14th, from 2:30PM to 7PM in the Nyack Seaport Restaurant. In many ways to donate blood is to donate the gift of life.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS OF ROCKLAND The Catholic School Region of Rockland sponsored a very successful fundraising breakfast the past Monday, April 30 at the Pearl River Hilton. Almost 400 people attended. The featured speaker was, His Eminence, Cardinal Dolan. The event raised over$90,000.00 for the Catholic schools of Rockland. Those who would like to make a contribution can text a donation by credit card to 845-251-4688.

FIRST COMMUNION This weekend on Saturday 40 children in our Religious education program received their First Communion. We thank their teachers, Isaira Dominguez, Lydia Leon, Santi Valentin, Millie Cobb, Maria Canjura, Xiomara Molina, Ana Pena, Beatrice Civil, Yaklin Polanco, Dannyelle Schaff. We rejoice that our children receive the Bread of Life for the first time. We pray that they grow in the life and the love of Christ.

CONCILIO PARROQUIAL Nuestro Concilio Pastoral está planeando agregar nuevos miembros para después del verano, en el mes de septiembre. El Concilio Pastoral trabaja por el continuo desarrollo de los ministerios de la parroquia. Los nuevos miembros se reunirán con los miembros actuales cuando el concilio se reúna en su reunión evaluativa y de planeamiento de sus acciones futuras. Los servicios en el concilio incluyen una reunión mensual, entre septiembre y junio y varias horas de trabajo de los comités entre una y otra reunión mensual. GRACIAS A “NO BOUNDARIES” Estamos agradecidos por la hermosa Misión parroquial la semana pasada sobre la misericordia de Dios conducida por el Ministerio de música sin fronteras: John Festa, Anne Quattrocchi y Catherine Ramírez. La misericordia de Dios transforma nuestros momentos de debilidad, duda y pecado. DESPENSA DE COMIDA Nuestros feligreses contribuyeron $673.00 para nuestro ministerio de Despensa de Comida el domingo pasado. Nuestra Despensa de comida usa estas donaciones para comprar comida del Banco Regional de Norte, el cual esta al norte de Albany, N.Y. Lo que compramos con un peso en un mercado de nuestra comunidad, en el este Banco de Comida podemos comprar cuatro o cinco veces esa misma cantidad con un solo peso. En marzo el Banco de Comida recibió $778.00 en contribuciones. Cientos de familias se benefician de la labor y dedicación nuestros voluntarios. Les damos gracias a Dios que podemos ofrecer este servicio a nuestra comunidad y a nuestros hermanos y hermanas que viven en pobreza. CAMPANA DE DONACION DE SANGRE Nuestra parroquia no podrá tener su campana para recaudar sangre en mayo. Sin embargo, una de nuestra feligresa está coordinando una campana en Nyack el próximo lunes, 14 de mayo, de 2:30PM hasta las 7PM en el Restaurante Nyack Seaport. De muchas maneras el donar sangre es donar el regalo de vida.

ESCUELAS CATOLICAS DE ROCKLAND Las escuelas Regional de Rockland patrocino un exitoso desayuno de recaudación de fondos el pasado lunes, 30 de abril en el Pear River Hilton. Asistieron casi 400 personas. El orador fue. Su Eminencia, Cardenal Dolan. El evento recaudo $90,000.00 para las escuelas católicas de Rockland.
