Stewardship
Recognizing and Receiving God’s Gifts
“Stewarding our Gifts: WHO ARE YOU FOLLOWING”?
April 22, 2018 Fourth Sunday of Easter
Acts 4: 8-12 / 1 Jn 3: 1-2 / Jn 10: 11-18
“I am the good shepherd and I know mine and mine know me…” The silhouette of the Good Shepherd appears on our current stewardship poster as a reminder of who we claim to follow. Jesus says that those who truly follow Him, also know Him. He beckons to us. He knows us. But do we know Him? Do we know Him deeply and follow Him out of pure, loving desire? Many of us have work to do. We are still straggling along, rather than actively following Him. Jesus, The Good Shepherd, has proven His love for us in laying his life down. How can we, in our own stewardship, make loving sacrifices to Him as well?

Pope’s Universal Intention: For Those who have Responsibility in Economic Matters. That economists may have the courage to reject any economy of exclusion and know how to open new paths. Human rights are not a privilege con-ferred by government. They are every human being’s entitlement by virtue of his humanity. The right to life does not depend, and must not be declared to be contingent, on the pleasure of any-one else, not even a parent or a sover-eign.
