It is time to make adjustments on St. Ann School Honeywell

Program as well as Power School Information. Four families

have not re-registered yet and, no doubt, there are new families

who are considering enrolling their children in St. Ann School,

but have not yet registered.

We are reminding you that these Honeywell and Power School

changes have been made this past week or are being made this

coming week. Please do your best to firm up your decision and to

notify our school office as soon as possible. It will facilitate

matters both for you and for the school office.

We are also in the process of firming up transportation

schedules, purchase of additional books and workbooks, helping

you order both dress uniforms and gym uniforms, ordering school

supplies and would like to see you on these lists now – rather than

after school starts in September.

During the summer, there will be summer school activities,

Home-School Association Board Meetings and Diocesan

Principals’ Meetings. The teachers will meet on September 1st

and 2nd. New Parents to the School will have a special

Orientation meeting on the evening of September 2nd at 7:30 p.m.

Our Opening Day for students in Grades 1 to 8 will be on

September 7th. Our Kindergarten children will join us on

September 8th and Pre-Kindergarten will have their first day on

September 9th. Please mark these dates on your September

Calendar.

In the meantime, have a wonderful summer and enjoy some

vacation time.

Remember to bring your family to Church every weekend – on

Saturday afternoons or on Sunday mornings.

St. Ann Parish will sponsor a bus trip to Atlantic City on Thursday, July 8th at 9AM. For more information, please call Marge Corona at 725-1198.

The Office of Evangelization in the Diocese of Metuchen will be holding a workshop to train people to facilitate Jeff Cavins' Great Adventure Bible Study program on June 30th from 7:00-9:30pm at the St. John Neumann Pastoral Center located at 146 Metlars Lane, Piscataway, NJ. If you are interested in attending, please register with Joanne Garcia at [email protected] or at 732-562-1990 ext: 1824.

If you are currently running the course in your parish and there are other members of your group in need of training, please encourage them to attend as well. Also please bring the Bible Timeline Study Kit with you to the workshop. If you need to purchase, please contact Ascension Press at 1-800-376-0520 (www.AscensionPress.com).

Great Adventure Bible Study Program

The Food Bank Gifts for July will be held the

weekend of July 3 & 4. Please remember to

bring your non-perishable products with you

to Mass.

Food Bank Gifts

Are you a baptized Catholic who would like to receive the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation?

Do you have a relative who is interested in becoming a Catholic? RCIA classes will begin with an “Inquiry Night” on Thursday, September 30 at 7:30PM in the Rectory Conference Room. If you have any questions or would like more information, please call Deacon John Pacifico at 908-725-1008 extension 121.

JUNE 27, 2010

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

In the year of 1940, on a bright, sunny Sunday of June 30th, Sr. Dolores, after completing her

eighth grade, enters the Community of St. Lucy Filippini, at Villa Walsh, Morristown, New Jersey. She

received her education at Our Lady of Sorrows School in Jersey City, NJ where, at the time, there were

800 students and a Filippini Sister in each grade. Her early training at Villa Walsh was filled with many

studies along with learning to become a holy and spiritual member of the Community.

Sister attended the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station where she received a B.S. degree

and soon after was assigned to a teaching position in one of our local schools. After many years of

teaching, Sister pursued a degree in Gerontology to work with the homebound and elderly. Sister’s

ministry was highly seasoned with those beautiful virtues of Jesus—love, kindness, patience,

compassion, and concern. In short, Sister is a true daughter of Saint Lucy Filippini—true to the

community’s initials: M.P.F.—a minister of prayer and faith.

Sr. Dolores, through her ministry, has touched the lives of our youth, young adults and mostly the

elderly of our parish here at St. Ann’s. Sister has provided them all with spiritual life and growth and

enrichment opportunities. Sr. Dolores is a real witness and religious for all seasons.

She was raised in a very wonderfully supportive family. Having parents who were deeply rooted

in the Faith gave her wonderful standards to work toward. She has said: “If I can just do half of what

my parents did in their lifetime to help the community, then I’ll have done a good job.” She is so proud

of her loving family of 14 members. All, except two, have gone to their eternal reward. Her sister

Connie, who is 90, and Sr. Dolores, who is a lively 84, are the only two who remain.

Sister has completed 70 years of religious life as a Religious Teacher Filippini and is most grateful

to God for the many blessings, gratitude and experiences that she meets every day. God chose her as a

special minister to serve His church and His people here at St. Ann’s with peace and love.

Fr. Edmund and I can attest to the fact that Sister is a most generous and holy nun who excels in

many areas. Also, she is an excellent seamstress for our Parish Liturgical Vestments as well as a

gourmet cook.

Please join us for a reception in Sister’s honor, after the 9:00 AM Mass on July 4th. I ask you all to

keep her in your prayers as she continues to work for the Lord.

In your charity, please pray for the sick and lonely—visit them if you can. Also, please remember

to pray for all who have wandered from the Faith and all who have died, especially the parents of the

babies who have been killed through abortion.

May God always be pleased with us!
