PLEASE NOTE: If you need to have Communion brought to you at your seat, please notify the ushers before Mass.
THEME: THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS A RESPONSE TO THE INVITATION INTO THE LIFE OF GOD-WHO IS FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT. The same Christ who appeared to the disciples in the Upper Room is with us in the Mass today, offering us life with Him today and for eternity. Let us respond to His invitation.
LITURGY OF THE WORD. In the first reading from Acts, we hear of the first Pentecost when the mighty rush of wind and the Holy Spirit filled the house where the disciples gathered. In Paul’s Letter to the Corinthians, he describes spiritual gifts which always spring from the one true God. In the Gospel from John, we hear of Jesus coming to the disciples, breathing on them and telling them to receive the Holy Spirit.

PENTECOST SUNDAY – A FAMILY PERSPECTIVE BY BUD OZAR – Today, on Pentecost, we remember Christ has given us the Holy Spirit to assist us in raising our family and he expects us to use this personal gift. Let’s turn off the noise, apps and distractions in our lives and let the Holy Spirit “guide us to the truth.”
HOLY LAND GIFTS – TODAY AT ST. STEPHEN – This weekend, there will be a display of handmade hand carved articles for sale such as nativity scenes, crucifixes, rosaries, the Last Supper, and many other beautiful religious articles. Because of the conflict in the region, many Christian families in Bethlehem are struggling to make ends meet. Holy Land Gifts represents over 100 Christian families who make a living selling traditional olive wood handcrafts and religious ariticles. When you purchase one of the beautiful gifts, you are helping artisans in the Holy Land provide for their families and live and work with dignity in a region fraught with tension and oppression.
LIFETOUCH PHOTOS – If you had your photo taken and purchased a package and have not yet received your free 8 X 10 in the mail, please call Lifetouch at 1-888-313-1746. Those families who had their picture taken for the directory and did not purchase additional photos may pick up their free 8 X 10 after Mass in the back of church, or visit the rectory during the week.
