Sports NewsWell done to our UKS2 students who competed in a Basketball competition against 18 other schools on Monday! All of the children thoroughly enjoyed their day and showed fantastic sportsmanship and technique.Reminder to all, there are plenty more competitions coming up so keep your kit in school ready!

EYFSNext week we will be continuing our Black History Topic. We are going to make some Jamaican soup and taste some tropical fruits. We will also be listening to different Jamaican sounds and music.Thank you to all the parents who came to our Inspire Workshop. We hope you enjoyed it and found it helpful to support your children at home.On Friday the reception children will bring home their homework. Please work with your child to complete it and return it on Thursday.Please remember to return the shared library book on Monday so that your child can choose a new book.

KS1This week, Spicy Fingers visited our school to teach us some Jamaican songs and to tell us stories. We even got the opportunity to play the drum!

Next week, we will be continuing our Black History Topic, making instruments to accompany our

performance in the end of term assembly.

LKS2We have been studying key people during our Black History topic – Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks.

Next week, we will look at Mary Seacole and her wonderful contribution to health care.

Mr Bianco will be taking 6 children to a football tournament on Monday - good luck team!

UKS2Next week we have our first Inspire Workshop of the year on Thursday 13 October at 9am. It will be based around reading and we would love you to attend to take part in some useful activities for your children’s learning.

We will also be completing our bobsleigh models for our Black History project.

Celebration AssemblyThere will be a Celebration Assembly at 9am on Friday 21 October, all are welcome.

E-SafetyIt has been brought to our attention that some of the children have Musical.ly and Instagram apps, on their phones and tablets, which are not using private settings. Please be aware to check your child’s settings for their saftey.
