GOD’S SUMMONS
Confronted with God’s power and majesty, the first response of the prophet Isaiah was to acknowledge his sinfulness. “Woe is me, I am doomed! For I am a man of unclean lips,” he said aloud. Likewise, with his empty fishing nets dramatically filled at Jesus’ instruction, Peter fell to his knees and cried out, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.” Next, Peter got up. He docked his boats then left to follow Jesus. Isaiah also had a dramatic change of heart. When he heard the Lord say, “Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?” Isaiah answered, “Here I am, send me.” We are summoned daily by the Risen Lord. We are reminded of the saving power of the gospel and know in our heart of hearts that, as St. Paul wrote, believing in anything else won’t lead to anything. What will it take for you to move past your sinfulness? What will it take for you to get off your knees? What will it take for you to bring to dock what is unimportant and to accept your call to be God’s messenger?

BLESSED SACRAMENT ADORATION
During the Advent and Christmas season, for the Holy Days of obligation, I changed the 8:00 am Mass time to 9:00 am. I heard many people commenting that they were grateful for being able to sleep in a little longer. Fr. Gary also brought this issue to my attention, thinking that it will be possi-bly better for everyone this time change. I brought this issue to the pastoral council and everyone agreed that it would be better to change the Sunday 8:00 am Mass to 9:00 am. I took their recom-mendation and beginning the first Sunday of Lent, March 9 we will be changing time for the Sunday 8:00 am to 9:00 am. May God continue to bless us and our parish, Fr. Abel
Ash Wednesday falls on March 6th. We will have different opportunities for all our parishioners to be able to join us in this celebration. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of our Lenten Journey

P. Abel

Gospel: Lk 5:1-11
R. Alleluia, alleluia. Come after me
and I will make you fishers of men. R. Alleluia, alleluia.
R. Aleluya, aleluya. Síganme, dice el Señor,
y yo los haré pescadores de hombres. R. Aleluya.
While the crowd was pressing in on Jesus and listening to the word of God, he was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret. He saw two boats there alongside the lake; the fishermen had disembarked and were washing their nets. Getting into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, he asked him to put out a short distance from the shore. Then he sat down and taught the crowds from the boat. After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch." Simon said in reply, "Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets." When they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their nets were tearing. They signaled to their partners in the other boat to come to help them. They came and filled both boats so that the boats were in danger of sinking. When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at the knees of Jesus and said, "Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man." For astonishment at the catch of fish they had made seized him and all those with him, and likewise James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners of Simon. Jesus said to Simon, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men." When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him.
