Sunday, November 20, 2016 Hymns Following the Gospel (Small Entrance)
Resurrectional Apolytikion in the First
Mode
Let us worship the Word who is unoriginate *
with the Father and the Spirit, and from a Vir-
gin was born * for our salvation, O believers,
and let us sing His praise. * For in His good-
ness He was pleased * to ascend the Cross in
the flesh, and to undergo death, * and to raise
up those who had died, * by His glorious Res-
urrection.
Apolytikion for Forefeast of the Entry of the
Theotokos in the Fourth Mode
By blossoming forth the only Ever-virgin as
fruit, today holy Anna doth betroth us all unto
joy, instead of our former grief; on this day she
doth fulfil her vows to the Most High, leading
her with joy into the Lord's holy temple, who
truly is the temple and pure Mother of God the
Word
St. Vasilios 1st Mode
Your message was carried throughout the
world . As it received your mighty word,
By which you divinely made manifest And
clarified the nature of existing things You
set in order the customs of men, You who
are royal priesthood! Holy Father, inter-
cede with Christ our God To grant us His
great mercy. Seasonal Kontakion in the Fourth Mode
The whole world is filled today with joy and
gladness on the Theotokos's auspicious and
resplendent feast, whereon with great voice it
crieth out: The heavenly tabernacle is she in
truth.

EPISTLE READINGS-St. -St. Paul's Letter to the Galatians 6:11-18
Prokeimenon. Mode Plagal 1. Psalm 11.7,1
You, O Lord, shall keep us and preserve us.
Verse: Save me, O Lord, for the godly man has failed.
BRETHREN, see with what large letters I am writing to you with
my own hand. It is those who want to make a good showing in the
flesh that would compel you to be circumcised, and only in order
that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even
those who receive circumcision do not themselves keep the law,
but they desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in
your flesh. But far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our
Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me,
and I to the world. For neither circumcision counts for anything,
nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. Peace and mercy be upon
all who walk by this rule, upon the Israel of God. Henceforth let no
man trouble me; for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus. The
grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.

GOSPEL READING 9th Sunday of Luke
The Gospel according to Luke 12:16-21
The Lord said this parable: "The land of a rich
man brought forth plentifully; and he thought to
himself, 'What shall I do, for I have nowhere to
store my crops?' And he said, 'I will do this: I will
pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and
there I will store all my grain and my goods. And
I will say to my soul, 'Soul, you have ample
goods laid up for many years; take your ease, eat, drink, be merry.'
But God said to him, 'Fool! This night your soul is required of you;
and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?' So is he
who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." As
he said these things, he cried out: "He who has ears to hear, let
him hear."

HAVEN FROM HUNGER DONATIONS
Throughout the month of November, The Sisterhood of St. Makrina is
collecting funds to help support the Haven from Hunger to assist them in
their very important mission to provide food for the underprivileged peo-
ple living in our area. No longer is the work of the food pantry based
strictly on volunteerism. The costs of running such a program are on the
rise. For every dollar donated, the Haven will be able to purchase ap-
proximately four times the amount of food donated by individuals since
they are able to purchase food through the Greater Boston Food Bank.
They will also be able to meet their many operating expenses, such as
heat and electricity. Of course, we will gladly accept donations of food
as well, but are hoping that you consider making a donation of any
amount to help us support the wonderful work they do. A donation box
will be available in the Narthex each Sunday. Thank you for your contin-ued generosity to this important cause.

USING KNEELERS IN CHURCH
Please exercise care when lowering your kneeler in Church. If you are
using your foot to lower the kneeler please have your foot support the
kneeler until it gently touches the floor. The multiple banging of the
kneelers is a great distraction at the most solemn moment of the Divine
Liturgy. Thank you for your attention to this issue.
GIVING TREE
The Church School students and staff will be coordinating the Giving
Tree in support of our Blessing Bag ministry as well as Operation Troop
Support. Please take a list from the Narthex or Educational Center foyer
or an ornament from the Giving Tree and return the new unused item(s)
to boxes set in the Educational Center foyer by Sunday, January 8, 2017.
Thank you for your generosity in supporting both those in need in our
community and those brave men & women of our armed forces.
Today is IOCC SundayA Day of Sharing. A second tray will be
passed to support the humanitarian mission of IOCC,

Everyone is welcome in the Orthodox Church and may receive the blessed
bread (antidoron) at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy. Sadly, the divisions
in the church prompt us all to work towards reunited Christianity. The
culmination of this reunion will be the ability of all Christians to receive
the Eucharist together. Until that blessed day arrives, only Orthodox
Christians who are in good sacramental order are permitted to receive
Holy Communion in the Orthodox Church. If you have any questions or
concerns please speak with Father Chris.
WELCOME TO OUR VISITORS
