Sports Update: Please pray for our children as they go to Dallas for

the South West Regional Youth Fellowship Tournament from Aug 5-7.

Our Basketball A Team won the first place at both the Ecumenical Bas-

ketball competition and Trinity Basket ball Tournament.

Our Cricket Team won 2nd place at the Ecumenical Cricket Tournament

From the Vicar’s Desk

Dear Immanuel Family,

Greetings in our Lord's matchless name. As we enter

the month of August, a few things come to my mind

that is happening this month. The Sports Tournament,

School reopening, Parish Convention, Sunday School Competitions and so

on.

I wish all our teams and participants a grand success and blessings of God.

Lets pray for Divine protection, safety, guidance and grace to enjoy the

moments in a blessed and meaningful way. I pray for God's blessings on

the students who are staring their new year in schools and colleges. Espe-

cially remember the students who are joining for new courses in universi-

ties in a totally different atmosphere away from home .

All the above said events, Sports , School reopening , Sunday school com-

petitions, bring to our mind one thing- "Success".

The term "success" and the meanings and importance we attribute to it in

life needs to be properly and gracefully understood and discerned in the

light of biblical teaching and divine knowledge. We often see people crav-

ing for success and using all or any means to achieve it and even quarrel-

ling, fighting and creating divisions to achieve success. The bible has nu-

merous examples of great people who talk to us about real successful lives.

Of them, the final words of instruction by king David to his son Solomon.

1 Kings 2:3 demands from David complete obedience to the Lords law and

statutes as the base for success in life. In our Lord's incarnate life we see

that same obedience that over weighs achievement.

As parents and children, let us be instructed that our being obedient to our

God and being fruitful in his hands in itself is success, and is more valua-

ble than adding a few trophies to our show case or a few triumphant pic-

tures.
