CASE STUDY Stag Energy Peaking Plant, Brampton, Cumbria Client: Story Contracting Product installed: 120m of 3m high JCW Absorbent Sound Screen JCW Acoustic Supplies received an enquiry from our client Story Contracting who challenged us to supply and install 120m of 3m high JCW Absorbent Sound Screen with a 4m wide x 3m high double leaf JCW Absorbent Sound Gate on behalf of Stag Energy. Stag Energy is an independent UK based company providing expertise and management services to innovative energy development projects in the rapidly evolving electricity and gas sectors. Built to highways standards and fitted into timber or steel posts, the JCW Absorbent Sound Screen are highly effective sound screens for industrial and commercial enclosures. The installation took our 2-man team around 3 weeks to complete and the project was valued at over £40,000. The JCW Absorbent Sound Screen conforms and tested to BS EN 1793. Also tested and complies to BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2.

    JCW Acoustic Supplies received an enquiry from our client Story Contracting who challenged us to supply and install 120m of 3m high JCW Absorbent Sound Screen with a 4m wide x 3m high double leaf JCW Absorbent Sound Gate on behalf of Stag Energy.

    Stag Energy is an independent UK based company providing expertise and management services to innovative energy development projects in the rapidly evolving electricity and gas sectors.

    Built to highways standards and fitted into timber or steel posts, the JCW Absorbent Sound Screen are highly effective sound screens for industrial and commercial enclosures.

    The installation took our 2-man team around 3 weeks to complete and the project was valued at over £40,000.

    The JCW Absorbent Sound Screen conforms and tested to BS EN

    1793. Also tested and complies to BS EN 1794-1 and BS EN 1794-2.

  • INSTALLATION GUIDE:Step 1: Baseplated Galvanised Steel posts set out at 2.4m centres and secured to existing concrete using 4 no M16 x 190mm HDG Resin Roads/ nuts/ washers and Fischer FISVT 380ML Vinylester Resin per post.

    Step 2: Timber Gravel Boards fixed to steel posts using 6.3mm x 65mm galvanised steel structural bolts

  • Step 4: Timber Vertical boards and timber cover strips fixed to the gravel board and horizontal rails using 2.8mm x 63mm Round cross- sectional ring shank galvanised steel paslode nails

    Step 5:Absorbent Sound Slab friction fixed to timber panels

    Step 6:Geotex mesh secured to horizontal rails and gravel board (over lapped at the top of the fence) using Type A – Point C – 9mm Galvanised Staples

  • Step 7:Timber Half round rails secured to gravel board and horizontal rails using 2.8mm x 63mm Round cross- sectional ring shank galvanised steel paslode nails

    Step 8:Top timber rail secured to fence using 75mm galvanised timber deck screws

    Installation is now complete
