Stages of Development – Contents Page

This is the general layout of my Contents Page. The three squares are where I will place images of Features that will appear in my magazine. I have left space at the top of the page for the title and date of the issue.

I filled the boxes with colours that fit with the scheme I have chosen, whilst also matching the colour of the title and sell lines on the front cover of the magazine. I began to fill the empty spaces with information regarding what can be found in theissue.

I added a title to the page, which tells the audience that this is the Contents Page of the magazine. I added the date of the issue. At the bottom right of the page, I have placed the name of the magazine and the issue number. The yellow boxes have been changed to green, as I felt that it fits the genres I am trying to target and include in my magazine.

I added a band list to my contents page, similar to the NME contents page. I chose to include this as NME is a magazine I am basing my work on, and has an index of bands that are included in the issue of the magazine.

I added the images to the boxes on the Contents Page. The page numbers were added to the corner of the image, as it made them clear for the reader, making the feature they want easy to find.

Finally, I added a drop shadow to each of the images on the Contents Page, as it allows them to appear clearer on the page. As well as this, I added an advert for subscriptions to the bottom of the page, along with a small image of the cover, as it is used in magazines such as NME and Q to attract more readers.
