Academics Working Group
Set goals and recommendations for infusing sustainability into academic
curricula across campus and within each academic college. This should
include but is not limited to sustainability literacy for undergraduate and
graduate students, high impact programs (experiential and service
learning), research, continuing education and professional development,
and needed resources (funding, staff, etc.). Implement the accepted goals
and recommendations.

Working Group Charges
Operations, Planning and Design Working Group
Set goals and recommendations for sustainability related to campus
operations, planning and design to create campus as a living model and
classroom of sustainability. Recommendations should build upon current
successes and accomplishments and should include but are not limited to
climate neutrality, energy, water, procurement, waste, the built environment,
transportation, food, storm water, grounds, biodiversity, investment and
needed resources (funding, staffing, etc.). This working group should
engage faculty experts on these subject areas to understand areas of
research and teaching that could be implemented on NC State’s campus.

Community & Culture Working Group
Set goals and recommendations that ensure NC State is modeling
sustainability on and off campus as a part of the university’s culture and the
everyday life of its community. This should include but is not limited to
addressing the common threads of sustainability-related social movements
for collective effectiveness such as wellness, entrepreneurship and
innovation, diversity and inclusion, social justice, environmental justice,
affordability and access and living wage compensation. Recommendations
should additionally enhance the implementation of sustainability into
community partnerships, traditions, events, recognition, outreach and
education and high impact programs (experiential and service learning) and
identify the needed resources (funding, staff, etc.). Implement the accepted
goals and recommendations.

recognition and celebration and needed resources (funding, staffing, etc.).
