CUSTOM PRINT/EMBOSS PROCESS

When these three things are filed:

1. Signed Customer Proof

2. Signed Production Proof

3. Customer P.O.

We aim to send you a proof within 5 business days. Simple art is usually quicker while more complicated art can go through a series of revisions that may take a couple of weeks.

Ideally this step takes about a week. However some art and certain products prove more challenging. There can be a lot of back and forth to get the art set up so it will print satisfactorily. This can take several weeks.

You Approve When the art looks exactly how you want it, sign it and send the Customer Proof back. Then the designer sends your art to our production facility.

We Approve If everything matches your Customer Proof and nothing got lost or changed in preparing the art for print, our designer signs the Production Proof, and sends it to the production team to let them know that art is good to go.

4. Ready for launchDesigner tells the sales team that art is finalized and we are ready for a P.O. With a Customer P.O. in hand, we can start production.

We Deny Maybe something is missing, or the color is wrong. If the Production Proof doesn’t match your Customer Proof exactly, we send it back until it does.

or

When does the Lead Time start?

or

3. Production ProofingOur production team examines the art, prepares the file for printing, and sends a final electronic proof back to the design team for review.

2. Customer ProofingOur in-house design team will create a proof for you and send it electronically.

You Deny Maybe something is spelled wrong, maybe you want your logo a little bigger etc. Don’t sign it. Send it back and we’ll make the changes for you to review again.

The process for Custom Print and Custom Emboss are very similar. Here’s how you can expect this type of project to go:

• Minimum font size: 10pt.• Minimum stroke weight: 1pt.• Vector art required• Some logos may require simplification to

reproduce well.

Because cups are cone shaped with angled sides (rather than cylindrical with sides that are straight up and down), we have to modify the art to offset the visual distortion that occurs when the cup is formed. (i.e. Your logo is gonna look janky unless we alter it.)

Our proofs are created at actual size, so you can print them and form them into a cup to ensure your art has been altered correctly.

If the cup art is just a few solid colors, using spot color is the simplest way to go. Colors match better, because the vendors use a specific color of ink rather than blending inks to build the colors. Most of our custom prints use spot colors

If the art has gradients, blends, shadows etc., or if it is made up of many colors like a photo, the CMYK process is better suited to achieving those effects and finer details. Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black Ink can be combined in different amounts to achieve millions of colors. Available only on our paper products.

Or: How to speak designer. We realize that you may not be familiar with how this whole custom printing things goes down. Here is a basic primer you can use to familiarize yourself with the language of the custom printing process.

Embossing and Debossing are similar processes. Embossed designs appear raised from their surroundings, while debossed designs are just the opposite and are pressed down into the material.

For most of our custom prints, we require a vector-based image. Vector images are scalable and ensure a sharp print. High-resolution bitmap files may be appropriate for photo-realistic 4-color process prints, but for most prints a vector image is required.

Emboss Minimums & Lead Times CUSTOM SHAPESCustom Shapes can fulfill your custom packaging and branding needs in ways that even customized stock items just can’t. Our experienced design team can help you create a tailor-made product to serve your food with flair. The chart below shows the typical work flow.

We’ll meet with you to better understand your goals and discover how we can develop a product that meets your business needs.

Using those renderings, we’ll create a physical model using rapid prototyping technology to provide a real-life example of shape, size and user experience.

Our industrial designers will go to work dreaming up concepts, solutions and features to meet your particular criteria.

Once the concept is perfected, we’ll create functional samples out of the actual materials. At this stage we’ll test for things like strength, lid-fit and leak resistance.

To further realize their ideas, our designers will create photo-realistic and dimensionally accurate computer renderings

Once approved, we will begin production and deliver a custom package that helps you build your brand and satisfy your customers.
