For the week, there were 27 main leaks and 540 service interruptions.
Residential Water Conservation Savings: Free Aerators and Showerheads LADWP continues to improve awareness and visibility of water use and encourage customers to embrace and implement water conservation. To support these efforts, LADWP offers a myriad of rebates and free water saving devices to its customers. From July to September 2018, LADWP distributed approximately more than 2,000 to residential customers with the potential to save ~6.6 million gallons of water by switching to water efficient aerators and showerheads. That amount of water savings is equivalent to providing drinking water to an estimated 61 homes annually.
LADWP in the Owens Valley: Laws Revegetation Project LADWP Watershed Resources Staff, Bishop Construction, and CalFire crews planted approximately 17,000 native shrubs in a mitigation effort to reach the vegetation goals of the area around Laws, a small town located northeast of Bishop, Calif. for the Laws Revegetation Project. Every spring and fall LADWP staff and partners plant large numbers of native plants to help meet mitigation goals. This round took place from October 1-5, 2018 and involved planting plants across 25 acres of a new parcel and replanting to improve 47 acres of a parcel that was initially planted in 2015. In addition, LADWP has established a seed farm and two greenhouses to air in the implementation of all revegetation projects in the Owens Valley.
