Research on 14 scientific topics, including: - Inventory and monitoring flora of the reserve and neighboring territories. Flora of the reserve includes 484 species of vascular plants and 287 species of mosses. Results of multi-year research are published in the monograph "Flora of vascular plants of Taimyr and neighboring territories". Scientists of Reserve also participate in the international program “Arctic Shorebird Demographics Network”. There carry out coordinated demographic studies of model species of waders to determine the factors influencing their numbers. The staff of museum and of the department of environmental education is formed exclusively of the members of the indigenous population of Taimyr. The museum provides exhibits and photos telling about the nature of the region, and keeps palaeontological and mineralogical collections as well as extensive ethnographic collection - national costumes, handicrafts. Officers of the protection department, in addition to protection of the cordon territories, are involved in the protection of tribal lands of the indigenous population. reserve launched a long-term program

to study its population with the support

from WWF .

Red-breasted Goose is also included

in the list of rare and endangered

animals.

Research & monitoring In 2012, the research department of the reserve included 20 people, 7 of them with

a degree. Research on 14 scientific topics, including:

- Inventory and monitoring flora of the reserve and neighboring territories.

Flora of the reserve includes 484 species of vascular plants and 287 species of

mosses. Results of multi-year research are published in the monograph "Flora of

vascular plants of Taimyr and neighboring territories". Scientists of Reserve also participate in the

international program “Arctic Shorebird

Demographics Network”. There carry out

coordinated demographic studies of model species

of waders to determine the factors influencing

their numbers. Participation in the "Programme

for the collection of data on the conditions of the

arctic breeding birds", which aims to create an

information resource on Arctic biodiversity

(http://www.arcticbirds.net/) continues as well.

Project to

monitor waders

on the Taimyr

Peninsula.

- Inventory of reserve soil cover, moni-

toring of seasonal thawing and tem-

perature of the seasonal thawing layer.

- Landscape mapping of the territory and inventory of reserve ecosystems, carried out on

the basis of "Nature of Eastern Taimy" database and GIS "Eastern Taimyr“.

According to the research, 147

scientific papers were published in 2012

only. Total of more than 1,500

publication were created during the

whole history of the reserve, including
