    COMMITTEE'S REPORT.Tp THE kIRHBERs,

We beg to subiuit to you the 92nd Quarterly Report and Balance Sheet. The total receipts for goods sold duringtho Quarter is 825,034 Ss Giil. The nett prpfit on the Quarter's business is 82,482 5s. 7«d. , which sum will allow 85567s. 11d„fbr Interest, S1,620 Os. Od. , as Dividend, being 1s. 4d. per 6 on Members' purchases, and 461 1s. Sd., bourg Sd. pez g

the purchases of Non-Members; g42 lls. 9d. , beiug 24 per cent per Annum for depreciation of Branch and Cottageproperty; 865 Os. Od. , to reduction of Fixed Stock; S109 138. Ofd. , to Reserve Fund; and 227 lls. Sd., for EducationalpuiToses. lip persons have joined the Society hvithin the Quarter, 42 have withdrawn, and 17 forfeited as per rule 6, makingthe present uumber 3780, au incxease of 56 over last Quarter.

Anew Storekeeper has been appointed to manage the Ssxilby Brsuch, the late Manager not having given entire

satisfaction, either to the iuembers in the district or to us, by liis inehihod oi conducting the business. We expect uow to see anincrease in the membership and a larger trade done there. If each member will try to realize that the business is one in whichhe is a partner, and will co-operate thoroughly with the storekeeper to save unnecessary expense, there is no reason why thfz

branch should not give as large a return of progt as those country branches which have been longer established.1

At the Metheringhsm Branch, which is making sound and xspid progress, the sales for the year that ended on October

Szd &f168, amounted to g3i678 8s. Sfd, and the nett progt was 41251 17s. 4d. Comparing these two amounts with those fpz fhe

uP to October 8th 1884, we gnd that, although Prices are lower, there is an increase of 8593 in the sales, and thenet«pzp6«'s azu g52 more than last yesz. The Annual Festival of the Branch wss held on October 15, and was ampst

You will npfdce that, in pursuance of the report adopted by the Quarterly Meeting held last February, the question pf

hdving bonus to, or shari'ng progts, according to results, with tl e employts is placed among the items of business for the nextmeeting. If a resolution is carried in favour of it, «he Committee ssk for thus to prepare and give the details of a system ofpzpgt sharing, to the members for discussion at a future meeting. IPresemu of lmsiness has prevented us from attending to tfus

,' but as aha Inaugural Address st the late Cowperafdve Congress, and numerous discussions at Conferences whichhave hinged entirely on this most important subject, we do not regret the unavoidable delay in brmging it
