Bar Screen

Mechanical Multi Rake Bar Screen is a mechanically cleaned screen suitable for inlet works of treatment plants,

pumping stations and inlet water structures. The screen captures solid materials which otherwise would be harmful to

the following process and to the downstream equipment.

Operation:

Thus the operation can be adjusted to the incoming flow. A level sensor is installed in the channel in front of the

screen. The screen starts when a pre-set water level is reached and operates until the water level is below the pre-set

value. The cycle is repeated when the level is reached again. In operation, sewage flows though the inclined screen,

approaching from the upstream side and after passing through the screen, departing on the downstream side. The

screen is periodically raked by a mechanized comb system which is actuated either by level switches mounted in the

channel upstream of the screen or by time clock. A doctor blade at the top of the comb travel removes the screenings

collected by the moving combs. The moving combs are suspended between two endless side chains, which are driven

through a head shaft, and sprockets. The gear motor and moving comb system is protected from damage caused by

jamming by a torque overload coupling with a micro switch. The screenings removed from the doctor blade drop onto

a skid plate, which transports the screening down to a container, belt conveyor or sluice pipe.

Rotatory Drum Screen

Inclined Drum Screens:-

Inclined Drum Screens are either installed directly into the channels, or are supplied as free standing tank packages.

The wastewater flows into the open end of the inclined screen basket and then through the screen.

Floating and suspended materials are retained by the screen basket and the blinding of the screen surface generates

an additional filtering effect so that solids far smaller than the bar spacing or perforation can be retained.

The basket rotates when a preset upstream water level is exceeded. The rotating drum then lifts the screenings and

discharges them into the central trough. Screenings removal is achieved by a scraper brush and a spray nozzle bar.

A screw conveyor in the trough rotates with the drum and transports the screenings through a inclined closed pipe

section. The conveying screw transports, dewaters and compacts the screenings, without any odor issues, and

discharges them into them a suitable container or conveying system.

Due to the drum’s shape and 35° inclination the screen area is much greater than that of a vertical screen, which

results in a low head loss, high separation efficiency and maximum throughput.

The Screens perform the functions of screenings removal, transport, washing, dewatering and compaction in a single

compact unit. An optional bagging unit minimizes odor.

The entire flow enters the screen drum internally and can only exit the drum through its screen area. This prevents

plant overflow and guarantees that the screenings are always retained within the screen drum.




The bar spacing can also be reduced to meet more stringent requirements.

Screw Screen

It is designed for combined action of separation of solids presence in the effluent, as well compaction and dewatering

of screened solids. Its have shaft less design and simultaneously cleaned by cleaning brush.

Screw screen are mainly used in the mechanical purification stage of municipal and industrial sewage treatment plants.

Flocculators

Ultra Filtration

Ultra filtration (UF) is a pressure-driven barrier to suspended solids, bacteria, viruses, endotoxins and other pathogens

to produce water with very high purity and low silt density. Typically, ultra filtration will remove high molecular-

weight substances, colloidal materials, silt (SDI), and organic and inorganic polymeric molecules. It serves as a

pretreatment for surface water, seawater, and biologically treated municipal effluent before reverse osmosis and other

Filter Press: This type of presses are liquid /solid separation devices that utilize feed pressure to squeeze pressure to

reduce the liquid content in process.

Fully Automatic Filter Press

We manufacture Fully Automatic Filter Press With Plate Shifting & Plate Shaker For Autocake Discharge Along With

PLC Based Electrical Control Panel & Pneumatically Operated Control Valves, Flow Sensor and Hydraulically

Operated Bomb Door Drip Tray. In this Filter Press Initial filtration process takes place with the push of a button.

Operator initiates filtration. Slurry is pumped into all chambers and cakes are formed as filtrate begins to flow. The

end of filtration phase is automated by flow meter which is located on filtrate discharge pipe. The flow meter indicates

the minimum flow rate of filtrate which is strictly related to the end of a cycle, the opening of filter press and the

discharging phase A plate vibrating device during the discharge phase ensures 100 PCT release of the cake. A PLC

controls the phases and cycle times for all the filter press functions including operation of the ancillary equipment.

Sludge Dewatering System

Sludge dewatering is the separation of a liquid and solid phase whereby, generally, the least possible residual moisture

is required in the solid phase and the lowest possible solid particle residues are required in the separated liquid phase

("the centrate").

A typical example of this type of two-phase separation is the dewatering of sludge from municipal sewage plant or

industrial waste water treatment. In this case, the residual moisture in the dewatered solids determines the disposal costs

and the centrate quality determines the pollution load returned back to the treatment facility. Minimizing both must be

achieved at the lowest possible cost, with the lowest possible polymer and energy consumption, with low maintenance

costs and with the lowest possible number of required operating staff. In practice, the operator quickly realizes that there

is no clearly defined operating point given daily and seasonal fluctuations; changes in system input or process

configurations, as well as malfunctions of every sort always present new challenges that must be met. The latest model

decanter centrifuge is a highly engineered piece of process equipment designed to separate insoluble suspended solids

from a liquid. The centrifuge can be used to produce a relatively dry cake from the separated solids and are flexible

enough to cope with a wide fluctuation in the feed material and still achieve excellent clarification and dewatering

performance.

The centrifuge consists of a solid bowl, which rotates and contains the process. A screw conveyor, contained within the

bowl, turns at a slightly different speed from the bowl.




The feed slurry is introduced into the feed chamber assembly by a stationary feed tube. It is accelerated up to speed in

the feed chamber and discharged into the pond of the bowl through the feed ports.

The liquid flows from the point where it is introduced to the pond to the liquid weirs at the large end of the rotating

assembly. As the liquid flows through the pond, the g force causes the solids to settle out of the liquid and to sediment

against the bowl wall. This causes a blanket of solids to build up against the bowl wall.

The solids that build up against the bowl wall are pushed to the opposite end of the liquid discharge by the screw

conveyor, which turns at a slightly different speed than the bow. The solids are pushed in the horizontal direction, up

an incline and ultimately out of the liquid prior to being discharged from the bowl. Centrifugal force is constantly

exerted on the solids in order to produce the desired solids in the discharged product.

The g force, pond setting, differential speed, flow rate, and polymer addition influence the clarity of the liquid

discharged from the centrifuge. The liquid clarity is also influenced by the hydraulic throughput rate: the higher the

flow rate, the poorer the liquid clarity. The exact relationship will be dependent on the nature of the feed material. The

differential speed will also affect the clarity of the liquid. The lower the differential, typically the less turbulence in the

liquid, and the cleaner the liquid being discharged (centrate). However, once the sludge blanket is overloaded and the

screw conveyor does not remove the solids at the same rate that they enter the unit, the centrate quality will

deteriorate.

The force that removes the solids from the liquid is the relative g force in the bowl. The faster the bowl turns, the

greater the g force, and the greater the driving force to remove the solids from the liquid. The greater the g force, the

better the centrate clarity will be.

The solids are also affected by the same parameters as the liquid. As the g force is increased, the force to compact the

solids in the sludge blanket increases and the solids become thicker. The increased g force will release more free

liquid and produce a drier cake.

The differential speed between the bowl and conveyor has a direct effect on the cake solids. As the differential speed

between the conveyor and bowl is reduced, cake solids are increased. This increases the retention time and maximizes

compaction in the solids.

The solids loading rate also has an effect on cake solids. In general, as the solids loading increases, the percentage of

solids in the cake decreases. This is not a direct relationship, but results from the requirement to operate the conveyor

at a higher differential speed to remove the solids from the bowl. This reduces the time for sedimentation in the bowl,

which in return lowers the cake solids.

In addition to being used to improve liquid clarity, polymer also improves the dewatering characteristics of the sludge

by agglomerating the solids and increasing the effective size of the solids. This is a variable that must be proven by

field-testing.

simple and quick to install.

Sludge Thickening

The thickening of activated sludge is a common practice many wastewater treatment plants. These plants use a biological

treatment process to reduce the wastewater COD and BOD before discharging downstream into the environment. During

the process colonies of bacteria develop and grow forming a biological body which produces a solid waste as it feeds

on the chemicals and nutrients.

It is necessary to continuously purge the growing biological mass to control its activity and efficiency. The purge stream

is usually in the form of dilute slurry, 0.5% to 3% dws, which is easier to handle when first thickened. Some of the

thickened slurry can be returned to the biomass to maintain an optimum concentration of bacteria. The remaining waste

activated sludge is processed for disposal.

A simple yet proper decanter centrifuge installation provides the flexibility to “adjust” operating parameters to produce

the desired choice of thickened sludge concentrations. The installation allows for the use of a polymer to help the

separation but polymer is not necessarily essential.

The decanter centrifuge will thicken an activated sludge without polymer producing solids at an ideal 6%-dws for land

spraying applications. However, the liquid centrate remains cloudy, 0.2%-dws, and can still pose a disposal problem.

Many industrial and municipal waste treatment facilities will often use a low concentration of polymer to clear up the

centrate to approximately 200-ppm dws.

By increasing the polymer concentration and adjusting the bowl and conveyor speed of the decanter centrifuge, the

system will provide clear centrate and solids discharged at 8%-dws. Once the system is optimized, the Hiller scroll drive




system will automatically adjust its speed to control the consistency of the discharged solids cake. These are the

parameters typically used to produce thickened digester feed slurry.

Increasing the concentration of polymer further and again adjusting the decanter centrifuge operating parameters will

thicken the feed and produce stackable solids at 12%-dws. And once the operating conditions are optimized, the decanter

centrifuge will control the solids discharge with the automatic adjustment of scroll speed.

(For example a plant thickening 800,000 gallons per day of activated feed slurry at 1%-dws up to 8% pump-able slurry

with a clear centrate, would require approximately 66 to 100-lbs per day of polymer). The decanter can both thicken

and dewater, switching between the two process applications in a matter of minutes without interruption of the feed

slurry.

It is not possible to state cake dryness figures given the process variations that exist from waste treatment plant to plant

but the decanter centrifuge will usually produce a cake that is dry to the touch and sometimes friable. Slurries from a

primary clarifier will typically range from 28 to 36%-dws. And while waste activated sludges can also appear friable

they are typically only 15 to 22%-dws. Even though moisture concentration can vary widely, consistent solids will be

discharged from the decanter centrifuge by optimizing the system operating parameters.




Digester Sludge Dewatering (Manure Separation)

Our DP model decanter centrifuges can effected be used for liquid / solids separation and dewatering sludge from

anaerobic digesters used to process dairy and cattle feed lots, swine, poultry or other animal manures. These

centrifuges can also be used for manure separation and /or thickening prior to anaerobic digestion as well as for

dewatering after anaerobic digestion.

The decanter centrifuge will often produce better results than other dewatering equipment when secondary or

biological sludges are present in the material to be processed. The primary reason for this is decanter centrifuges do

not use filter media for separation and dewatering, which can often become blocked or blinded by biological sludges.

Thickening and Dewatering Digested Sludge: As with activated sludge, decanter centrifuge operating parameters can

be adjusted to thicken or dewater digested sludge. Typical performance for dewatered digested sludge:

Inlet solids 2 to 4%-dws

Outlet solids 28 to 33%-dws

Polymer required 9 to 14-lbs/1000lbs-dws

Solids recovery > 97%

Centrate quality < 200-ppm

Fully dewatering digested sludge is not always necessary unless the objective is to reduce the total volume for

minimizing transport and landfill costs. Some industrial and municipal wastewater treatment facilities choose only to

thicken the sludge to meet their specific handling requirements. (Land spreading for example)
