Document Objective

The objective of this document is to provide a step by step overview of the Selective deletion process from a DSO (Data Store Object). Every step has an associated screenshot for better understanding of the topic.

Document Detail

Data Store Objects (DSO) — An Overview

A DataStore object (DSO) serves as a storage location for consolidated and cleansed transaction data or master data on a document (atomic) level.

This data can be evaluated using a BEx query.

A DataStore object contains key fields (such as document number, document item) and data fields that, in addition to key figures, can also contain character fields (such as order status, customer). The data from a DataStore object can be updated with a delta update into InfoCubes (standard) and/or other DataStore objects or master data tables (attributes or texts) in the same system or across different systems.

Unlike multidimensional data storage using InfoCubes, the data in DataStore objects is stored in transparent, flat database tables. The system does not create fact tables or dimension tables.

Selective Deletion Process

Selective deletion from DSO refers to deleting specific values from a DSO leaving the other values unaffected. These values are deleted based on specific variables like Calendar Date, Account No. etc.

An Illustrated Example

In the example taken in this document, all values associated with Product Code P00001 on the Calendar date value 25.03.2003 are to be deleted from the DSO.

The DSO we will be using has the technical name DSO_SHY and the description as my DSO.
