Helping Kids Understand SCD
u Put 1 packet of yeast in warm water
u Add sugar
u Come back in about 10 minutes
Explain: We are going to be eliminating foods that cause pain and other health problems. Here is what’s happening inside our bodies:
When we eat sugar (or starches which turn to sugar) it feeds yeast and other pathogens. This is what happens.

u Other: “I still think this is a crazy idea.”
u You: “I know the diet sounds crazy. I hope you can appreciate our situation though. Can you support us as we do what believe we need to do?”
