Stitchers,

Thank you so much for all the donations to the Country Store. Based on the mountains of fabric I'm drowning in right

now, this should be one of our best shows yet! As always, you came through for us. There's one more thing we could

use and that's grocery/shopping bags. It's amazing how many of those we go through! If you could drop them off the

day we set up for the show, that would be perfect.

I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers who spent many hours helping to sort and price all our dona-

tions. Without your help, I'd have a nervous breakdown! That being said, I'd like to raise my glass of lemonade in a

toast to Joleen, Martha Brooks, Kathy Mitchell, Peggy, and Jim for sharing your valuable time in helping me. I'd also

like to give a special thanks--and a big hug--to my husband, James, for putting up with the many boxes and bags he's

been working around and helping to carry in from the car.

Again, thank you for all your donations!

Attention!!! Loucon Retreat!

Kelly Pruitt

We need a minimum of 15 attendees for Loucon, as of

9/11 we only had/have 9 signed up. If you are interested

in attending the retreat this year DON’T WAIT, Call Kelly.

The retreat is lots of fun and a great time to get last mi-

nute Christmas projects done.

Loucon is scheduled for November 10-13. We have a huge

bright room with lots of windows. Everyone has their own

table and cutting tables are set up for everyone to

use. The bedrooms are downstairs below the workroom,

so you can sew in your pajamas. The workroom has

coffee pots with coffee or hot chocolate provide and

there is a popcorn machine with the popcorn provided. Of

course we always bring lots of treats to share, because

what's a retreat without chocolate and other good snacks

to eat. Meals are provided by the staff at Loucon.

Wouldn't you love a few days away from home with all

your quilting buddies, no meals to prepare, no chores or

dishes to get done. Just a few days of sewing, socializing

and maybe learning a few new things.

There is the chance to run to Whittles (and who wants to

miss that) and of course Sew Much More.

And I bet there will be door prizes once again!!!

Beside all of the above, it is a great chance to get all those

last minute Christmas projects done.

Sign-up sheets are out at the meetings, so get signed up

and your deposits made. You don't want to miss out.

Cost for the entire weekend including meals is

$159.00. Sign up will be available at the August meeting.

Registration Form will be sent in separate email. Contact

Kelly Pruitt with any questions .

Sponsored by Cherrywood Fabrics. Any quilter was

invited to participate, using the specific fabric from

Cherrywood. Our Member Joleen Filler, participated

and made it to the top, out of 320 submitted quilts!!!

Not part of the traveling group, but her quilt (above )

will be in the forthcoming book!!! Well done Joleen.
