Dr. Mathews Mar Makarios Episcopa will be the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries from NECK and Vicars from sister Parishes will also be attending the function. We invite the presence and participation of all St. Thomas Parish members.We thank God Almighty for the blessings He has showered upon our Parish and also for keeping us under His care for the past 8 years.

From the Vicar ....Dearly Beloved in Christ!
I am happy to greet you all in the precious name of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ. The Christian community has entered the Holy Week of the Great Lent. The prophet Joel writes, “Yet even now,” says the LORD, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning; and rend your hearts and not your garments. Return to the LORD, your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and
abounding in steadfast love, and repents of evil” (2: 12-13).Once a poor boy in dirty and torn clothes walked into an orphanage and expressed his
desire to the superintendent: “I would like to stay here.” The man replied; I don’t know you; do you have any recommendation?” The boy held up his torn clothes and said, “Nothing more than these rags, Sir, I thought that this should be sufficient proof to let me in”. Immediately the superintendent swept the boy into his arms and took him to the orphanage. The boy was washed and given new clothes and food.
God calls the Judah to return to worship with all their hearts, with fasting, with weeping and with mourning; and to rend their hearts and not their garments. The tearing of garments in lamentation was an expression of deep emotion in times of grief, terror or horror at some misfortune; but the expression of repentance in Judah’s heart is to be even more emphatic. The word ‘heart’ in Hebrew idiom symbolizes what the ‘brain’ symbolizes in language today. The heart was understood as the seat of will and intellect, so that Judah is being asked to turn away from apostasy and return to God in a deliberate act of will. To repent or turn to God has the meaning of “turning around,” of going in the opposite direction, so that a person is leading a life in reversal to that before.
My dear people, in the Great Lent the Holy Week is the perennial invitation to a radical introspection and conversation to walk with the crucified people- the sick, the downtrodden, the dehumanized and victims of internal war, natural calamities, man- made issues, nuclear explosion etc. The cry of the people is “Hosanna”- save us now. The Lent is a costly call to renew our commitment to re-enact the memory of the Crucified One through our solidarity with ‘the crucified people’ of our times. We, the Christians have a greater role in the enactment of Cross- struggle to save God’s world. Let us give our ears to the cry, “Save Us Now”- the groaning pain of God’s world. The Church is a risen community in Jesus and set as a model today to reveal Him even in the midst of struggles and powers of death.
Let the Holy Week put all of you in the wheel of discipline and praxis of renewal and repentance for a renewed life in Christ. May Risen Lord be with you all!

A farewell meeting was held, at St. Thomas Center on 10th March, after the Holy Communion service, to bid farewell to Rev. K. A. Varghese (Ahmadi MTC), Rev. C. V. Symon (St. Johns MTC) and Rev. Fr. N. C Mathew (Knanaya Church).
FAREWELL TO CLERGY
This year’s VBS for our children was conducted from 19th to 27th March 2014 at the St. Thomas Centre. It was a blessed programme under the able leadership of Mr. Anil K. Sam, CSSM Tiruvalla. The VBS was attended by about 225 children, with 30 teachers and 20 volunteers sharing the God's word with them.
VBS 2015The witnessing day was memorable, touching and Spirit-controlled, with most of our children, and teachers, dedicating or re-dedicating their lives to Jesus. Let us pray that our children will remain faithful in their commitment to the Lord. All thanks and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
