DESCRIPTION

An interesting report from our CDCO team in Cambodia, Siem Reap. Nary shares with us, her perspective about the Basic Education High School Scholarship Programme in Cambodia. The programme was first piloted in Laos and Thailand in 2010, before it was extended to include students in Cambodia, who have completed their lower secondary education (up to grade 9) and who lacked the opportunity and financial capacity to complete education at the upper secondary level (grade 12). I hope you enjoy reading this report as much as we did, Happy Friday everyone! :) More information about our High School Scholarship Programme is available here: http://childsdream.org/fileadmin/uploads/2011/Basic_Education_High_School_Scholarship_Programme_0611.pdf

And so on, Nary reported about Scholarship Program...

Until now we support 18 students from 6 secondary schools of Pouk district to continue to their high school. They were selected depending on the 3 criteria: - Willing to continue to high school - Lack of financial resource - An outstanding student

Let’s have a break and enjoy our coffee break...

Listen to our student’s commitment!

Lonn Thoeu

Our 1st generation scholars, and

a grade 11 student in Pouk

High School.

“I have improved a lot since I got this scholarship

and I feel delight to meet the news scholars.

I committed myself to study hard and never let the donor down. ”

Heng Srey Reath

The youngest scholar among our 2nd generation. She is in grade 10 of Pouk High School. “Before I got this scholarship, I have to work part time beside school to support my study, people hired me to do the washing, cleaning and I did everything if it’s legal just to get money. I never think that I have today but this is actually what I was dreaming about. Thanks Childs Dream to make it comes true. Finally, I would like to express my willing and commitment that I will keep up my hard working, try my best to be an outstanding student.”

The DOE from Pouk District felt really impress with what he has seen and heard today!

Mr. Sou Sarat, DOE from Pouk District

“This is a special day for everyone. Students, you are so lucky to get this scholarship and continue to high school. Your parents are happy too.”

“I’m actually feel impress with what you have done and have been trying so hard to achieve today.

Please continue your hard work and your future will be brighter.”

This is the time to sign the contract, but don’t do it now!

You only sign it after you have read and agree to the terms and conditions in this contract.

Be careful, this year will be more serious! If you cannot get 40 grade points for 3 months, then your scholarship is also finished. Please remember also if you don’t send your report to us on time, we will not transfer you any money as well.

Finally, they all agree and sign...

The school principle is signing on the contract after students and their parent’s signed.

I have 18 of them to sign so I must do it quickly. It’s 11Am now, I feel hungry as I did not have any breakfast.

Group photo!

Students only!

Don’t feel hungry yet, we will go to the bank to learn how to use the ATM first then a gathering at students home to know where you are going to live and then you can go home for lunch.

This meeting was finished by 1PM.

Sorry CDCO team to make you hungry.

Finally, I would like to say deeply thank you to my director, Yem, and my colleague, Sinoeuy,

for your kind support and corporation.
