COLONNADE NEWSLETTER
May 2015
In commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Ravens-bruck concentration camp (April 30, 1945), we are pleased to present “The Hiding Place”, the inspir-ing true story of Holocaust survivor Corrie ten Boom. With the WW11 Nazi in-vasion of Holland, the ten Boom family joins the un-derground resistance to protect Jews and political prisoners from Nazi perse-
cution. Betrayed by a fel-low Dutchman, they are arrested and imprisoned on the Ravensbruck camp as their faith in God and love for others overcomes the feelings of despair where “no pit is so deep that He is not deeper still.” This production is a work of nonfiction. While Story-teller is committed to fam-ily theatre friendly theater, we are also committed to theatre with a purpose, and we believe there are signifi-cant lessons to be learned from the life of Corrie ten Boom. While tastefully and care-fully presented, some of the
realities of the ten Boom’s story may not be appropri-ate for some children spe-cifically as it related to life in a concentration camp. This show is not intended for young children, and parents should use discre-tion when bringing older children to the shows. Make plans to joins us May 15th, 16th, 22nd or 23rd at 7:30 PM with a matinee on May 23rd at 1:00PM Ticket Prices range from $8 to $12 and are for a re-served seat.
