Welcome to TCOMM-ColonnadeThrivent’s mission is to help people be wise with money and to inspire generosity.
The first part of that mission is what your Thrivent-Colonnade team has the privilege of doing for you every day. The second part of that mission is what you – as member-owners of Thrivent – do for your families, com-munities, and world every day.
This quarterly newsletter, and the ongoing work of our newly formed, member-led Thrivent Community (TCOMM)-Colonnade, has been de-signed to inspire, enable, and celebrate even more of your generosity. Because of your connection to the Thrivent-Colonnade group, you’re already a member of TCOMM-Colonnade!
All TCOMMs function to help Thrivent members develop and exercise more generosity, and many TCOMMs choose a handful of member-preferred charities to direct their efforts and events toward throughout the year. A few months ago, you may remember being asked to fill out a survey about your community work and interests – that survey was intended to help determine the charitable focus areas of TCOMM-Colonnade.
But we learned two important things from that survey:
•First, that an overwhelming majority of members are highly aware and active in areas of generosity, already embodying the important role generosity plays in our lives as members, citizens, and Christians.
•Second, that you’re exercising your generosity across a wide range of areas, to the betterment of you and those you’re serving.
So instead of investing resources to generate generous energy that’s already there, only to direct it toward a limited number of causes that don’t fully represent the vast interests of members anyway, our TCOMM-Colonnade is going to invest in you: Your interests, your examples, your aspirations in making your life -- and the lives of those around you – more abundant through generosity.
Our Generous Living newsletter is just one way we’ll be updating TCOMM-Colonnade members on current examples and future opportunities to celebrate and nurture generosity. In future editions we’ll be using the space you’re currently reading to feature a story of how a TCOMM-Colonnade member is living out Thrivent’s mission of inspiring generosity, and all editions will have updates on how generosity is weaving its thread though Colonnade staff (Reflections), members (Chatter), and the world at-large (Buzz).
