Situation There are many appliances that need battery to

operate. However, there are many types of batteries in the

market namely, Energiser, Panasonic and Eveready. (branded)

Some generic brands such as Jakarta Power, VTEC and BYB.

Which is better? Generic brand or branded?

• Which brand of the dry cell battery last the longest when connected to the same load?• Does branded battery will be better than generic brands

Problem Statement

Methodology

A circuit is set up as shown in previous slide. The initial voltage is recorded. When the switch is closed, the stopwatch is started immediately. The reading shown in multimeter is recorded at interval of time until

60 minutes. Steps 1-4 are repeated by using different brands of battery. The voltage drop with time of different batteries are recorded in the

table. A graph of v against t is drawn for every battery.

Conclusion

Among the 5 brands of batteries, Panasonic is the best which has the longest lifespan.

Branded battery is not always better than the generic one, Jakarta Power overperformed Eveready.
