Strateg ic Land Management P lan

Darkinjung Local Aboriginal Land Council has developed a Strategic Land Management plan to ensure that we realise the opportunities that exist through the NSW Aboriginal Land Rights Act.

Extensive land holdings means broader responsibility to our 9,000 strong community and to this end, we have identified the immediate opportunities that exist within our land holdings.

Darkinjung LALC is committed to improving, protecting and fostering the best interests of all Aboriginal people.

We have clearly demonstrated and reinforced this commitment through our established relationships and partnerships with other organisations within our local Aboriginal community.

We have also identified new ways of building community capacity through our partnership with Jawun, an indigenous partnership program that aims to strengthen local communities.

The capacity for Darkinjung LALC to contribute and improve the health and well-being of our community through development is critical and the opportunities that stem from development will directly and indirectly provide benefits.

These benefits include:• an increased knowledge of

development• sustainable employment creation in

areas such as land management, construction and real estate

• enterprise development creation in areas such as trade services

• home ownership creation• financial planning support services• funeral fund service• sustainable housing management and• sustainable land management.
