Strategic Planning

STRATEGIC PLANNING is like developing a road map for the organisation that helps those with an interest (internal and external) to determine where it is heading and how it is going to get there.

The road map is an important document for your organisationbut so too is the journey for developing it.

Benefits of Strategic Planning

•Clearly defines & communicates your priorities•Identifies strengths, future challenges and priority areas for development•Uncovers new opportunities and approaches•Prompts decision-making and consensus•Provides a framework to guide future decisions•Streamlines the work undertaken•The process can build cohesion, draw in new interest, assist the discovery of new partnerships

When strategic plans don’t meet expectations

➢ Filled with ‘motherhood’ statements and not underpinned by an action plan
