Features of Quotestream Tick-by-tick Real-time Streaming Data

Quotestream connects directly to QuoteMedia’s ticker plants, providing low latency, fast market data delivery to desktop computers. Every tick is updated on the screen for both Level 1 and Level 2 quote displays.

Multiple Portfolios with Custom Column Views

Users can create many portfolios, with each portfolio being readily accessed or toggled. The ability to customize each layout allows the user to view multiple portfolios at the same time. Each Portfolio Module can easily be modified, allowing the user to change, resize, move, add and delete columns. Multiple views can also be created, and the user can toggle between their custom views. Layout and column views are completely customizable and sortable, and rows (symbols) have a click-to-sort capability to order by most actives, percent change, volume, etc.

Each portfolio can hold up to 300 symbols, and there can be up to 30 portfolios. This translates to 9,000 total symbols per user. Lower packages can be set to have fewer symbols, fewer portfolios, and fewer workspaces.

Customizable Interface Quotestream provides complete customization for the user. All workspaces can be easily customized and altered at any time. Users can change modules, resize modules, add new modules or delete unwanted modules with a click. Multiple workspaces provide for a completely personalized user experience. Custom user settings are also available for many features, right down to user-preferred font sizes and colors.

Streaming Level 1 Symbol Lists Quotestream offers up to 300 symbols per symbol list (portfolio). All symbol lists can be located anywhere in a workspace, and all are fully customizable with regards to which columns contain which data and the ordering of data points. These column views are also sortable, and feature drag-and-drop functionality to re-order columns. Rows (symbols) are also sortable by any column, such as alphabetical, by price, by volume, percent up/down change, VWAP, etc.

Streaming Watchlist Module

The Watchlist Module offers a quick view of up to 300 symbols per Watchlist. Customization includes the ability to display up to 5 sections with 60 symbols per section and up to 5 columns per section. The Watchlist also includes customizable headings with independent sorting ability as well as drag-and-drop functionality to re-order symbols.

Streaming News, Filings and Announcements

The streaming News and Filings Module provides access to a wealth of respected real-time news sources, such as Dow Jones News, Business Wire, Market Wire, PR Newswire, Fly on the Wall, TSX/CP Equities News, Midnight Trader, and more – integrating a broad spectrum of coverage, including Portfolio-based, Company-based, Sector-based and Topic-based News feeds. Both live streaming news and historical news are available to the user. The News Story reader provides the ability to copy and print a story, and the user can easily increase or decrease the font size for easier reading. In addition, related news articles, topics and symbols are featured with each story.

Dynamic Time and Sales

The Time and Sales Module, the Time and Sales and Quotes Module, and the combined Level 2 with Time and Sales montage provide tick-by-tick access to all trades. The Time, Sales and Quotes Module provides streaming real-time Time and Sales and Quotes on a per symbol basis. Fields include Time, Price, Size, Buyer and Seller, as well as Bid, Bid Size, Bid Exchange, Ask, Ask Size and Ask Exchange.

Market Depth / Level 2 The Level 2 Module streams data such as NASDAQ Level 2, OTCBB Level 2, Pink Sheets Level 2, as TSX and TSXV Market Depth, CNSX Level 2, PURE Level 2, and LSE Level 2. For Canadian (TSX/TSXV only) and London Market Depth Level 2 data, layouts encompass Market by Price, Market by Broker, and MarketBook, and also include a Level 2 Trend Bar and Level 2 Histogram.

The Real-time streaming Advanced Charting window can run concurrently with any Workspace, and can be moved to a second monitor. Tick-By-Tick Charting

The Tick-By-Tick Charting Module provides a number of features to more easily view price actions. It provides the user with the ability to view charts in one, five, or ten minute intervals. Additional features include the ability to paint axis labels, show crosshair, show track ball, show bid and ask, and show volume.

The Waterfall Ticker Module streams Time and Sales for a whole portfolio. All Time and Sales trades are streamed for all symbols in the selected portfolio. The easily accessed Symbol Lookup window allows you to perform a refined search when you have some information about a company, but need to know the ticker symbol. You can search by Company Name, Instrument Type, as well as Country. Search results can provide Company name, Symbol, Exchange/Instrument, Cusip, Sedol, and Isin. The Symbol Lookup provides results for not only US, Canadian, and UK instruments, but also for global international equities, based on the user’s entitled exchanges.

RTD (Real Time Data) Data Exchange (formerly known as DDE)

Quotestream also has the ability to access the Windows Messaging Layer (Microsoft’s RTD protocol), which links streaming real-time data to Excel spreadsheets and other third party applications. RTD links extend market data access beyond Quotestream, allowing you to manage unlimited client portfolios, import market data into third party applications, and run your own calculations through spreadsheets. QuoteMedia provides ready-to-use templates of commonly used datasets for MS Excel. However, any application that supports RTD can incorporate dynamically updating real-time intraday data.

Real Time Alerts

Quotestream provides real-time access to on-screen and email alerts. Users can be alerted on such criteria as when stocks reach a certain price, volume, bid, ask, price change, or when they hit their 52 week high or low. The user can also be notified when a filing is released, and when a news release hits the wire. Alerts can be set to pop up on the user’s screen, or sent to the user’s wireless device or email address. Users can also access their personal Alerts History, with dates and times of when Alerts were triggered in the past.

Custom Color and Font Settings

Quotestream may be viewed in various light or dark color layouts. Fonts can be increased in size for easier viewing, and color sets are provided for users who have problems with reds and greens (color-blindness). In addition, Quotestream provides the ability for the user to alter how areas of the modules change when a stock goes up or down. Some users prefer to have text colors change, others prefer to have the entire row background color change. All of these settings are custom to the user.
