Introduction

This program consisted of 8 stripped areas of varying sizes. The purpose of the stripping was to verify the bedrock geology for the potential for gold and base metal mineralization.

Location and Access

The property is accessible by highway 66 which passes though the property south of Morrison Lake in Cairo Township 6 miles east of Matachewan Ontario. The stripping is on the east and west side of an old logging road that exits highway 66 to the south.

Stripping Program

Stripping was carried out on Mining Claim 4212013 (3units) and 4202302 (1 unit) in Cairo Township (see Figure 3). The overburden in the area ranged from 1-4 feet. The equipment used was a backhoe with 18 foot reach mounted on a skidder. Shovels and grub hoes were used to hand grubbing.

Discussion and Conclusion

The Biralger copper-gold occurrence is located north-east of Morrison Lake in altered syenite of the Cairo stock.

Berger in his recent mapping of Cairo located the Larder Lake Cadillac deformation zone to the south of Morrison Lake along the contact of the Cairo stock and the mafic metalvolcanic' s to the south.

This stripping program was an attempt to locate mineralization in this contact zone. This zone is mapped as a magnetic low on map 81-937 released by the OGS in 2004. To the east is a magnetic high which may be a mafic intrusion which may account for the mafic cloritic shists in the area and the anomalous copper and nickel values. (Appendix 4)
