PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Selective High School for 2021 Applications are now available online for parents. Parents must apply online at: https://education.nsw. gov.au/public-schools/selective-high-schools-and- opportunity-classes/year-7/application-process. Please read the instructions carefully. Applications are open from 8th October to 11th November 2019. New Demountable During the holidays we had one of our demountable classrooms removed and replaced with a brand new demountable classroom. This has caused some disruption to class 2/4Y while we have had to get the classroom outfitted. Thank you to the students, teachers and parents for your patience while we have had to wait for this new classroom. We will have workmen in our school all of this week making sure the classroom is ready for the students. Reading Targets Reading targets for Term 4 will go home on Friday the 25th October, 2019. Home reading is really important as it supports what the students are learning at school. If you have any questions about your child’s target please make a time to discuss with your class teacher. Whole School Assembly Our next whole school assembly will take place next Wednesday the 23th October, 2019. Our Dance Groups will be performing for our special guests, our grandparents. The student leaders are running our assembly. It starts at 1.50pm and parents and carers are welcome to attend. Tell Them From Me Survey The “Tell Them form Me” Survey is currently open. We would love all of our families to participate in this survey so we can gain your feedback on our school. This information will help guides us in our school goals for the future. All the families that participate will go in to a draw to win a $100.00 gift card. To be eligible do the survey and just screen shot of the final page showing that you have completed the survey and email it to Mrs Lewis at the school’s email address. [email protected] Preschool Upgrades During the school holidays we have had some upgrades taking place in our preschool. Next week the last of our upgrades will take place. We will be replacing our old play equipment with the new play equipment that was chosen by our school community.
STRIVING FOR EXCELLENCE
Kindergarten Orientation
Our first Kindergarten Orientation Day will be on the 29th October, 2019. The Kindergarten Orientation days will run for 5 weeks. If you haven’t already enrolled your child for Kindergarten next year please come to the school office and fill in enrolment forms. Enrolments are also being taken for preschool next year.
Finally, we will be celebrating Grandparents Day on Wednesday the 23rd October, 2019. Our day will begin at 12.00pm with an invitation for Grandparents to come to open classrooms to join in maths activities. At recess we will have an afternoon tea in our upper cola for the grandparents and then in the afternoon we have our whole school assembly where our dance groups will be performing. We hope to see lots of grandparents come for the afternoon.
Regards Ms Sandra Martin Principal
Congratulations to our school community!
