Training Module Description

This course serves as a basic to intermediate level application of STAAD Pro software for structural design of various types of structures. Participants are expected to have good grasp of structural design engineering principles. Each participant provided a dedicated PC with the necessary software loaded and the training course will be a combination of PowerPoint presentations and interactive sessions. The participants will also be given the opportunity to develop at least one project-specific deliverable during the Training Programme. Course Content:

MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO STAAD FOR STRUCTURES ANALYSIS AND DESIGN

General Description

Types of Structures; Trusses, Frames, Shells etc

Structure Geometry and Coordinate System

3. Relationship between Global and Local Coordinate Systems.

MODULE 2: MODEL GENERATION AND ANALYSIS OF SIMPLE STRUCTURES

2. Model Generation Using Member Incidences for Beams, Plates & Surfaces.

3. Model Generation using Import from DXF file.

4. Model Modifications: Add, Remove, Copy, Move, Divide, Selection, Mesh Generations
