STUDENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE REPORT FOR THE YEAR
2016-2017
3rd
August 2016
An Induction program for the first years of all streams was held on 3rd
August .Principal
Dr.Surekha Reddy addressed the students with her enlighting words. Also Vice Principal Dr
Prameela advised the students to actively participate in the college events and use resources of
college.
12th
August 2016
The council members met for making arrangements for Independence Day celebrations.
15th
August 2016
Independence Day was celebrated with pomp and glory in the college campus.Principal Dr
Surekha Reddy hoisted the National flag and addressed the gathering with her message.Patriotic
songs were sung by students. Independence Day speech was delivered by Dr Nagaranjani, Head
Dept. of Telugu followed by parade of NCC students. Breakfast was arranged for both staff and
students.

Student Council members’ meeting was held to discuss and make necessary arrangements for
competitions to be conducted in connection with Founders Birthday Celebrations.

Competitions were conducted in Essay writing ,elocution, poem recitation in Hindi,Telugu and
English, paper presentation, best out of waste, signing(classical and light).All the competitions
had good number of participants.

Birthday celebrations started with garlanding the
Founder’s statue by the Chief Guest Dr Sunki Reddy Narayanreddy,Writers Former Principal
,Govt. Degree College. He addressed the gathering and also distributed prizes to winners of
various competitions .The Function was attended by management members, staff and students
while Correspondent cum Secretary Prof Muthyam Reddy presided over the function.

Student Advisory committee Meeting took place in Principals Room to plan Student Council
elections for the year 2016-2017.Dates were finalized for elections .As decided the student
council election were held on Afternoon of 29th
August 2017 in AV room under the supervision
of Student advisory Committee .Dr. Bindu,Dept of Management,Dr Nagaranjani ,Dept of Telugu
and Mrs Pankaja ,Dept. of English were present to judge the students taking into consideration
the votes given by Class representatives and other aspects.

As planned the inaugural of student council was held on 3rd
September .Prof Muthyam Reddy ,
Correspondent cum Secretary was the chief guest for the event.The inaugural started with
former President of the Student council Ms. Anusha handing over the charge to the newly elected
President Ms Sai Priya along with the other council members .The new cabinet took an oath of
office. Principal.Dr Surekha Reddy,Vice Principal Dr Prameela addressed the gathering while
former President of the Council shared her experiences and the President of the Cabinet
announced her plans for the year.
The inaugural was followed by the Fresher’s Party to welcome our First Year Students hosted by
the second and final year students.
While the fresher’s party was going on in Auditorium, Students even participated in Public
Speaking Contest conducted by GCI. Out of which few students were shortlisted for the final
round to be held on 11th
September 2017 at Hari Hara Kala Bhavan,Secunderabad.

A lecture on “Malaria Awareness Programme” was conducted by GHMC in the college
Auditorium.Chief Entomologist Sri Venkatesh.GHMC and Honarable corporator
Smt.Chaintanya Khanna addressed the gathering with interactive sessions.

September 2017
Best Message Contest was conducted by IBS with teacher’s day theme. Bhavaniof B.Sc,Pooja
Jadam,T Srivani of B.Com won I,II and III prizes respectively.

Students in large number took part in the Open Book Competition conducted by Rama Krishna
Math.Few got selected to be a part of the workshop which was held on 23rd
Feb 2017.

January 2017
Parent- Teacher meet was held for the first year students to give away their marks memorandum
of Semester I. Parents and students spoke expressing their views on college, its facilities.

January 2017
Red FM 93.5 a popular radio station conducted a group dance competition in the college
auditorium, Haripriya and group (M.Sc CS I year) was shortlisted for finale.
Online meditation Course was conducted for all I, II and III year Students.

January 2017
Annual competitions were conducted for U.G and P.G separately in the college.Students took an
active participation in all the competitions. The competitions conducted were Essay writing
,elocution in English ,Telugu and Hindi ,Debate, Dance(solo, group),singing(classical,
light),JAM,GK quiz, hair style, Mehendi and Ragoli.

January 2017
Republic day was celebrated in the college campus. Correspondent cum Secretary Prof Muthyam
Reddy hoisted the National flag and addressed the gathering .Patriotic songs were sung by
students and Prof Renuka Sagar,Director of MBA recited a poem .Program concluded by the
dance by the students of MBA on a patriotic number and parade by NCC students. Breakfast was
arranged for both staff and students.

The College Day celebrations started by garlanding the statue of our Founder near the entrance
of the college by the Chief Guest Prof. Ghanta Chakrapani,Chairman,TSPSC. Principal read out
the annual report following which the academic toppers were awarded gold medals,cash prizes
,shields in their respective categories.
Also the prize winners of the annual competition conducted ealier in the month of January were
given away the prizes.The program ended with colorful cultural performances.
The same afternoon, our first and second year student bid a memorable Farewell to the final year
students of UG.
Refreshments to the students were distributed during the examinations.
Student Achievements for the Year 2016-2017
1. K Alekhya participated in Keshava Memorial fest “Keshava Vanijyam” and won second
prize for paper presentation.
2. S Divya Sri bagged first prize in running ,second prize in skipping at “ABHIYAAN” fest
conducted by Aurora degree college
3. Y A Amitha won first prize in marble and spoon at “ABHIYAAN” fest conducted by
Aurora degree college.
4. At KMIT fest the following students won various prizes in different events”
i. K Soumya & B Shruthi –II prize for Poster Presentation
ii. Sarika Vishwesha-II prize Physics fest.
iii. Y Swapna & Debora Williams-II prize in memory game.
iv. Suvidha Laharika –I prize in debate and II prize in elocution.
5. Students got selected for workshop conducted by Ramakrishna Matt called “ Vignana
Deepthu”
6. Srinidhi ,Jahnavi and Juweria bagged I ,II,III respectively for the potter head quizzes
conducted by “Hyderabad Literary Festival”.
7. Syeda Mahveen Sana bagged II prize at state level elocution conducted by “State Central
Library”
8. Our students were selected for the final round for “Public Speaker” conducted by JCI.
9. Juweria Siddiyue bagged I prize at state level singing competition conducted by “State
Central Library”.
10. Sumana G bagged II prize in elocution at the “Vivekostav” fest.
11. Apoorva Sharma bagged III prize in singing at Badruka Fest.
12. Srinidhi,Hari Priya and Juweria bagged I prize for performing texts competition at
Osmania University and II prize in Talent hunt at St Francis College for Woman.
13. Suvidha Laharika won best paper award at Kasturba College and II prize in elocution at
Aurora College fest.
14. D Soundarya, G Aruna and Vaishnavi took part in “Nestle Cooking Competition.”
