Markus says that kindness

builds positive

RELATIONSHIPS!! What is Kindness?

Kindness is being concerned about the welfare of others. Kindness is showing

you care about anyone or anything that crosses your path, knowing that

everything is a part of God’s creation. You can be kind to people, to animals,

and to the environment. Kindness means to care for others

and the earth as much or more than you care about yourself.

You are practising Kindness when you …

• Notice when someone or something needs care.

• Think of things that would make others happy.

• Remember your connection to all of God’s creation.

Virtue of the Week: Kindness

• Last Thursday, 24 July, a number of students from Year 3 and some other classes received

the Sacrament of Reconciliation. They continue their preparation for receiving the

sacraments of Confirmation and First Eucharist on either Sunday 3 August or Sunday

17August. Please pray for these students at this important time!

• Our first whole school celebration this term will be on Thursday 31 July when we celebrate Catholic

Education Week. The theme this year is “Come live life in all its fullness”. During this week we will engage the students in a range of activities.

• School Athletics Carnival this Friday, 1 August.

• Ekka Public Holiday is on Wednesday 13 August, so no school on this day.

• Our Lap-a-thon will be on Friday 15 August.

• Book Week runs during Week 6 starting on 18 August.

• St Vinnies Sleepover will be held on Friday night 12 September. Money and permission forms need to be

returned as soon as possible.

• Holiday start on Friday 19 September. (Only 8 weeks to go!)

To celebrate Catholic Education Week and promote the

importance of the home/school relationship, the Prep

classes held a healthy eating morning. The

children and their parents created fruit kebabs,

sandwich snails, rice paper rolls and much

more. We were also lucky enough to have

Michele Binstadt from C&K to show us how

to use Story Sacks to encourage reading and

oral language. Thank you to all who attend-

ed and helped with the day. The children

had a fantastic time sharing this with you.
