For families Did you findFlicker yet?

Shepherd and sheepPlay a follow-the-leader game in which one person is the kindshepherd, and everyone else is the sheep. Build an obstaclecourse together first with simple obstacles, such as• A rope to hop over• A table to crawl under• Chairs to weave in and out of

Take turns making a new course and being a shepherd and asheep. Young children oen really enjoy it when you get downon the floor with them and step into pretend roles. Don’t forget to “baa!” when you arethe sheep. Being silly and playful together can be a great way to connect with your child!

Enough for everyonePlay a game like “Hot potato” in which you pass an item around thecircle while music plays, and stop passing the item when the musicstops. Instead of having only one potato, play with enough “potatoes”for everyone. Give everyone a so ball or other so toy to hold. egoal of the game is for everyone to have a “potato” at all times. As youpass the item to the next person, the person will pass an item to you.is pattern may not work perfectly, but it may create lots ofopportunity for laughter and connection. Play a favorite song and enjoy!

Make rainPractice gentle, light touch with your child by taking turnsmaking “rain” fall on each other’s shoulders and backs. Onyour child’s shoulders and back, show your child how to gently“pitter-patter” fingertips, and then let your child try on yours. Some children may really enjoy this gentle sensation, and otherchildren may not, so ask your child if the “raindrops” feel goodor not. Remember that the gentle rain in God’s promise of peacehelped the plants to grow so that everyone has enough to eat.

Cooperative gamesGod’s promise of peace in today’s story shows a picture of a world in which everyone is safe and has enoughgood food to eat. Young children oen have a lot of physical energy, and active games are great ways to usethat energy. ey also learn best by experiencing things with their bodies.
