1. SSS Planners – Welcome back! Student Support Services (SSS) has a limited number of planners available for free for SSS upperclassmen. Please come to the office during regular business hours (8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.) to pick up a planner. Please fill out a contact sheet while you are here and pick up a schedule of fall SSS events and workshops. Also, please see our previous e-‐mail regarding the SSS library. We hope to see you all in the office soon!
2. The Pittsburgh Tour – We are planning an awesome tour of Pittsburgh with the Pittsburgh Tour Company on Saturday September 13, from 10:45 a.m. to 3:30 or 4:30 p.m., depending on if you get off during the optional stop (see below). Sign-‐ups have begun in the SSS office (8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.). Please sign up ASAP. A $5 refundable deposit is required. Please bring exact change. This event is free for students. We hosted this event last year, and it was so much fun. We will ride around Pittsburgh on the red Double Decker buses you may have seen driving past campus. Even if you are from the Pittsburgh area or have lived here for over a year, you learn so much. We plan to stop in the Strip District for an hour for lunch (you pay for your own) and exploring. Afterward, the tour bus will make an optional stop at Point State Park where the three rivers meet. Please join us for this great way to explore Pittsburgh!
3. SSS Facebook Page – Please like and explore our Facebook Page! – Pitt Student Support Services (Pittsburgh Campus)
4. Non-‐SSS Events – The Office of PittServes is hosting Volunteer Fair for all students next week on September 11, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the WPU Lawn. The fair provides opportunities for students to connect with local non-‐profit agencies who are looking for volunteers.
5. SSS Recognition – Congratulations to the following students: • Dorietta W. Fuller was accepted into the Katz Graduate School of Business to pursue a
dual degree. Dorietta will be earning a MBA/MS-‐Management Information Systems.
