2.14 Significant Activities and contributions made by IQAC

The plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality as to create

awareness different departments and associations are encouraged to conduct special lectures by eminent

resource persons. As a part of that activity the following programmes were conducted by various

associations especially by IQAC.

• Entrepreneurship and Soft Skill Training programme was organized by IQAC in

association with Rotary Club on 11.07.2016. Mr Shri Ram Karantha was the resource

person.

• Personality Development programme was organized by IQAC in association with India

New Foundation on 16.07.2016. Mr Ramesh Chandra Hegde was the resource person

• Orientation programme was organized by IQAC on 01.07.2016 for first year students

• Campus Selection programme was organized by IQAC in association with Simply

Grammena Solutions ltd for old students as well as final year students on 27.08.2016

• Soft Skill training programme was organized by IQAC in association with Simply

Grammena Solutions ltd for M.com students on 27.08.2016. Sri Sukumar Kamath was

the resource person.

• Workshop on orientation programme for NSS students. Training was given by Mr

Ragavendra Kini, Lecturer, Bidkalkatte.

• A programme on “Vidya Deepa” was organized by NSS in association with Divine Park

Viveka Jagrutha Balaga on 17.10.2016. Mr Rajesh Nayar Lecturer, Madav Pai Memorial

college, Udupi.

• Kumari Akshatha second year B A students was participated in Republic Day

programme held at Chennai from 08.10.2016 to 15.10.2016.

• Spoken English Classes programme was organized by IQAC for M.com students on

28.10.2016

• A programme on Bombay Share Market Investment was conducted on 09.11.2016 for

M.com students. Prof M V Narayanaswamy, Bandarskar College was the resource

person.

• Workshop on Soft Skill Management Programme was organized at Bandarskar College,

Kundapura on 16.11.2016. Prof. Savitha Shasthri was the resource person. Our M.com

students were participated in that workshop.

• Share Market Turminal visit programme was organized at Shri Gajanna, Kotak Security

office on 16.11.2016. Our M.com Students were visited.

• Orientation programme on Skill Development Training in association with state Govt

held at Mandmas pvt ltd, Mangalore on 29.11.2016.

• Training programme was organized in association with state Govt on Skill Development,

held at Mandamas PVt ltd, Mangalore on 05.12.2016.( 12 days programme)

• Conducted a training programme about Smart Classes by RUSA ICT in association with

DWMG for all Lecturer on 23.12.2016

• Personality Development programme was organized on 25.03.2017. Mr.Vigneshwara

Bhat, Retired GM, Syndicate Bank was the resource person.

• World Water Day programme was organized by IQAC in association with Kundapura

Bar Association on 31.03.2017

• Special one day NSS camp was organized on 02.04.2017 at Surgoli, Belve

.

❖ Coaching for competitive examinations organised in college

• Students’ grievances are addressed by counselling cell. The slow learners and those with

attitude problem are counselled and guided.

• Career guidance cell looks after career guidance and counselling on opportunities. It

tries to imbibe them with necessary skills and knowledge required for those job

❖ Internal Quality cell strengthened during the year, which improved the overall quality of

college activities. Also, the result analysis helped both teachers and students greatly, thus

bringing a visible progress in academic results

• RUSA grants: During the year great deal of efforts were taken to ensure that the funds for

development of the college and academics will be granted under RUSA scheme. As a result

Rs 2.00 crore was granted for new constructions, renovation and ICT from MHRD – RUSA

through KSHEC. Administrative approval for new construction and renovation received. ICT

Gnanasangama was installed. Training to the staff on smart class was done. IQAC coordinator

is in-charge of the RUSA committee.

• One day workshop on entrepreneurship motivation and 12 days coaching for soft skills was

organised.

• The activities, performances of the departments and various associations of the college

have shown a marked improvement

• Various activities have been held all round the year: To conduct various programmes from

all the active associations of the college.

• Orientation programmes have been held: To conduct orientation programmes for newly

admitted students, teaching and support staff. One day training was held for the entire

faculty.

• Results show good improvement at the university level and college level.
