(A) You can find magic wherever you look, sit back and relax, all you need is a book. So, read any two story books during this summer vacation,out of the two story books read, do the given activity in scrapbook for the one you like the most.

In few lines give an outline of the story. Write the names of the main characters in the story. Which was your favourite character in the story and why?

From the story books you read, display the new words you have learnt on a “Word Tree”.To make a Word Tree-

Draw a small tree by using dried twig or a branch of a tree. Cut leaves out of different coloured sheets Write 15 words that you have learnt on each leaf. Stick these leaves on to

the branch of your word tree.

(B) Spelling Fun Do the given exercise in the scrapbook.

Father’s Day is just around the corner and soon you’ll get to celebrate one of

the most important men in your life- your DAD

On that sunny Sunday in June, he deserves to be appreciated and pampered.

So on this Father’s Day tell your father what he means to you and thank him

for what all he does for you and prepare a card for your father with a sweet

message inside it.

III. Culinary Art Now, to make his day more special why not sit with mummy in the kitchen and help her make a mouth watering dish for him.

You can then serve it to all your family members. Ingredients:

1 large banana 2 medium sized mangoes 10-12 strawberries some grapes watermelon small chopped slices of muskmelon

2-3 table spoon chopped nuts like almonds, cashews, etc vanilla ice cream as required a few chopped nuts and some slices of strawberries for garnish

Method: Rinse, peel and chop the fruits with the help of your mother. Take the

chopped mixed fruits in a bowl. Mix them with a spoon. Add 2-3 table spoon chopped nuts. Mix the chopped nuts with the mixed fruits. Put the fruit salad mixture in

bowls or in ice cream cups. Place 2-3 scoops of vanilla ice cream on the top of the fruit salad.

Garnish with a few slices of strawberries or any fruit or berries. Also sprinkle some chopped nuts from top.

Now serve ice cream fruit salad straight away. Click your pictures while making and serving fruit salad with ice cream and paste it in the scrap book.

(C) Use any four basic shapes (square, triangle, rectangle, circle ) and make a clown or scenery with matchsticks or toothpicks or red kidney beans in the scrapbook.

V. Fun With familyCapture some beautiful moments with the camera when you visit to spend some time with your grandparents or relatives during the summer vacation.

VI. Caring for the environment Have a chit chat with your parents and ask them how their childhood was different from yours. Now compare and write five differences. Draw a table for the same in the scrapbook as given below.

Dear Parents A happy and healthy family time is the best way of imparting the much needed life skills to our children. We all wish to see them grow up as responsible and caring individuals who celebrate and value the time. A few vital suggestions are listed below to make the vacations more exciting and fruitful than ever before-

Motivate the child to use these four magic words- THANKYOU, PlEASE, SORRY and EXCUSE ME.

Assign your child a few tasks which they can easily accomplish like filling water bottles, keeping them in refrigerator, watering the plants etc.

Create a family bond by visiting other members of the family who do not live in the same town. Kids really love the presence of grandparents, aunts and uncles in their lives. It ensures stronger family ties as well.

Grow your child’s talent by making him / her learn any new skill / sport. It also makes him / her active and attentive.

Nature will love you if you will love it. So daily visit a nearby park along with your child and talk about the things you see around. Also encourage him / her to keep the surroundings and environment always clean.

Encourage your ward to speak in English with the family members and friends.

Restrict his / her watching TV, confining it to interesting children’s programs, cartoon films, discovery channel etc.

Mobile phones should be used for productive work only. Encourage him / her to play some outdoor games or board games instead of the virtual ones (Video games).

Celebrate vacation with family and have a wonderful time together.

GUIDELINES FOR HOLIDAY HOMEWORK Assign a permanent workplace and a work time. This

brings discipline in our life.

Let the child do his / her homework independently. Parents can act as guides and facilitators.

All the activities of scrapbook are to be done in one well decorated scrapbook only.

The homework should be done as per the instructions given. The name, class, section of the child should be mentioned clearly.

The summer vacation is from 15 May 2019 to 1 July 2019. The school will reopen on 2 July 2019 (Tuesday). The last day for the submission of the homework is 5 July 2019 (Friday).

No homework will be accepted after the last date. Revise the entire taught portion in all the subjects. Learn and revise tables from 2 to 10.
