While I've done my best to avoid storyline spoilers, I cannot

    guarantee that

this guide is entirely spoiler free. There will be no discussion of

    the plot,

characters, or Suikoden Universe in this guide, it is meant to be used

    purely

as a means to help you through the game, finish quests, and recruit

    characters.

Thank you for choosing my guide! I hope my guide will be helpful to

    both

the casual players, who are just there to enjoy the ride, and those

    who are

completionists that want every character, item, and quest completed.

Unfortunately, due to lack of available free time Online, I am unable

    to

provide my EMail address in my Walkthroughs to answer questions.

Due to FAQ size, I've added a Contol-F function. Though it's notnecessary

to use it, you can just type in "Chapter #: [Name]" it will help you

    get

around in heavy list sections, such as Characters and Quests. You may

    need

to search twice to find what you're looking for, since you may first

    be sent

    to the Quick Walkthrough section.

If you're looking for a guide to recruit the Stars of Destiny, please

    check

the "Recruitable Characters" section under "Starbearers: Stars of

    Destiny."

It is in chronological order an has a minimal amount of spoilers. The

    main

    Walkthrough also has this information.

This guide is currently In-Progress and though the Walkthrough is

    complete,

there is still much that is in the process of being added, fixed, and

    rewritten.

In this FAQ section, I will briefly go over which questions I see

    asked most

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    3/329

    frequently about Suikoden Tierkreis.

    -----------------------------------------------

Question 1: What is Suikoden Tierkreis and how is it related to

    previous

    Suikoden titles?

-q1wst-Question 2: What do the status icons in the menu mean?

Question 7: Help! A Quest isn't appearing for me!

-q7qia-Question 8: Who is the Assassin after Icas and how do I recruit him?

    -q8wia-

    Question 9: The Namna Problem

    -q9tnp-

    -----------------------------------------------

    ------------------------------

Question: What is Suikoden Tierkreis and how is it related to previous

    Suikoden

    titles?

    -q1wst-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

Suikoden Tierkreis takes place in an alternate "world" in the same

    "universe"

as the original Suikoden games. Don't expect to see any of your

    favorite

characters, as they're not in this world. The Stars of Destiny remain,

    as does

headquarter and army building, but the rest of the game is quite

    different.

Runes don't exist in this world, so no more of the True Runes are

    revealed.

Blacksmiths don't raise your weapon level and instead you buy newweapons for

each character. Most characters are not restricted to one weapon

    type.

The main character is not a silent protagonist, unlike the other main

    entries

in the Suikoden series. This is not entirely new, though, as the

    Suikogaidens

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    4/329

and Suikoden Tactics didn't have silent protagonists.

    ------------------------------

Question: What do the status icons in the menu mean?

    -q2stm-

    ------------------------------

Answer:Not even the instruction booklet explains that, unfortunately.

    However, it's

rather easy to deduce what they mean from previous Suikoden games.

Sword, top left: Total attack power, Strength+Weapon Attack power

    Shield, left: Physical Defense Power.

Magic, top right: The wand represents magic power.

    Shield, right: Magical defense power.

Hand, left: "Skill," or hit percentage and multiple attack potential.

Running Man, right: "Speed/Agility" How quickly a character acts in

    battle.

Star, left: Luck, it's believed to affect critical hit rates.

If you're looking for more information, see the Character Menu screen

    section

    of the Basics section.

    ------------------------------

Question: What does the icon under a monster's name mean?

    -q3icm-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

This denotes a monster's strength, weakness, and neutrality towards

    weapons.

The Slash, which is Sword and some Axe-type weapons, is denoted by a

    crescent.

A large, circular star-ish shape represents Strike, which is Fist and

    Club

    type weapons.

The yellow shape that seems to be facing upwards, in something of a

    triangle

or arrowhead shape, represents pierce, which is Spear and Bow type

    weapons.

If, when fighting a monster, the mark below said monster is blocked

    out and

has a line through it, it means the monster is resistant to that typeof

attacks. For example, if the Slash icon has a line through it, then

    Swords

and Axes won't do damage as effectively.

If the monster has no mark by their name, they are neutral towards

    that type

    of damage.

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    5/329

    ------------------------------

Question: Can I change Settings? Turn off the Voice Acting?

    -q4csv-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

Unfortunately, no, you are not able to change your game settings orturn off

the voice acting. If you're early and the game and the Hero's voice

    is

annoying you, fear not! His voice gets slower over time. It's only a

    few

characters that actually speak like he does.

Later on you'll be able to change the "Window" type to a different

    color

and slightly different layout, but the controls, text speed, and other

    settings cannot be changed.

    ------------------------------

Question: I'm having problems recruiting a character!

    -q5prc-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

Take a look in the Stars of Destiny section of this guide. That

    section is

devoted to the characters you recruit automatically and characters you

    must

go out of your way to recruit. That section is meant to be as

    spoiler-free

as possible and the characters are presented in chronological order.

    ------------------------------

    Question: The Nakil/Hafin Problem

    -q6nkh-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

Nakil and Hafin are rather confusing characters to rectuit because

    they can

"switch places," so to speak. For example, if you find Hafin in the

    Mislato

River early in the game, you'll see the events with Nakil at your

Headquarters once the lake has appeared.

However, if you wait until later, Nakil will appear at the Mislato

    River and

Hafin's scene will trigger at the Headquarters.

No matter which order you do it, the method for recruiting them is the

    same.

Bring Asad to the Mislato River for the first character.

    Chronologically

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    6/329

speaking if you go to recruit the characters as soon as possible, the

character you'll find there is Hafin. Once you have one of the two

    characters,

later on in the game, once you've returned from Cragbark the first

    time, you

can recruit the second character. Put Asad into your party and walk

aroundfor a few days, then enter the Headquarters by foot. If the scene

    doesn't

trigger, exit the Headquarters and walk around some more.

Once the scene triggers, you need to pass, literally a few months game

    time

by walking around and when you re-enter your Headquarters, a scene

    will

play. This can be somewhat random and difficult to trigger, it seems.

    It

    didn't seem season based, though.

Nakil and Hafin are both missable characters, so try and recruit them

    as soon

as possible. If you're at the set of events right before the Mission

    where

the desert appears, it's too late to recruit them! They need to be

    done as

    soon as possible.

    ------------------------------

Question: Help! A Quest isn't appearing for me!

    -q7qia-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

Having trouble getting a recruitment Quest started?

There are four reasons this will happen.

1: You're in the middle of a story event or Mission.

2: Having certain quests active will stop other Quests from appearing,

    so try

    finishing off other quests.

3: Try speaking with the characters who trigger the quest again,

    usually once

or twice. You may have missed a conversation with one of them.

4: Try going ahead one scene in the game if you're in-between

Missions. Thiswill mostly happen if you're after an event and you can go into the

    Grand

Hall and have a Yes or No Option to continue the game.

Finally, make sure you've recruited all prerequisite characters and

    any

    prerequisite quests.

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    7/329

    ------------------------------

Question: Who is the Assassin after Icas and how do I recruit him?

    -q8wia-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

After the events dealing with Icas and Morrin's recruitment, you met a

large, bald man who is trying to kill Icas. This man's name is Ouragan and

    it is

possible to recruit him in what is Chapter 8 of this FAQ. I'd suggest

looking in the Stars of Destiny Section for more details.

    ------------------------------

    Question: The Namna Problem

    -q9tnp-

    ------------------------------

    Answer:

Namna seems to be causing quite a few people recruitment issues.

The short answer to this problem is this:There are two chances to recruit him. If you can't get him at the

    earlier

point, which is after rectreiving three of the Chronicles, try

    watching a

scene in the Grand Hall. If the Grand Hall doesn't trigger the next

    events

with him, wait until later in the game. It's as simple as that. You

    have not

lost your chance to recruit Namna if you've missed recruiting him as

    soon as

possible, but there does seem to be a rather short window available

    for his

recruit until the end of the game.

It is possible to recruit Namna at a later time once you've taken Fort

    Arc.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about and are still trying to

    recruit

Namna, check the Stars of Destiny Section.

    --- Basics ---

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    8/329

The Basics section goes over the very basics of Suikoden, which are

    all

necessary to Master to beat the game with ease. Not only will this

    section

include the very basics of information, such as travel, controls, and

    battle

basics, but it will go a bit more in-depth into menus, their usage, stats,

    and types of damage.

The instruction manual that comes with the game is terrible, so these

    sections

    had to be made.

If you've never played a Suikoden game before, I'd suggest looking

    over the

Menu screen section, as that is where there are changes from other

    RPGs.

The stats may also seem foreign, since Suikoden doesn't usetraditional stats,

    such as "Hit Percentage."

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    --- Controls

    ---

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    -bs1ct-

It is not possible to change the controls in this game, so you're

    stuck with

    using the default controls.

    Stylus Use:

It is possible to use the Stylus in Suikoden Tierkreis, however it

    only works

in place of the "A" Button, which is generally used to choose Accept,

    Okay,

Continue, anything that means "Yes," generally. You cannot control

    your

character with the Stylus, but it does work during conversations, on

    the

    menu screen, and in Battle.

During conversations, you can skip ahead of dialogue by clicking the

    character

    text box.

In the Menu and Battle, just click the option you wish to choose to

    initiate.

    ---------------------------

    Control Pad:

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    9/329

Move your character. Pressing right moves your Hero right, left

moves him left, etc. There's nothing special about the Control Pad

    controls.

    ---------------------------

    A Button:

Select, Okay, Choose selected Command, action button, however you wish

torefer to this button. A Button is the main command button in Suikoden

Tierkreis. On the Field, use this to examine, open chests, and speak

    to

    non-playable characters.

    ---------------------------

    B Button:

Cancel, Back, No, the opposite of A. If you chose the wrong command on

    a Menu,

Quest, Battle, or other screen, Press B to cancel back out of it.

    ---------------------------

    Y Button:

This button opens the Menu screen. The menu screen cannot be openedwhile on

a Town Menu, but it can be opened on the Field Screens and World Map

    screens.

    ----------------------------

    L and R Buttons:

These are used on the menu screen on the Equipment and Status screens.

    They

allow you to switch between the characters you're viewing without

    having to

cancel out of the screen and pick another character manually.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    --- Travel: Field and Menu

    ---

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    -bs2tf-

The Field sceen in Suikoden Tierkreis is broken down into four types,

    World Map

    Town, Dungeon, and Menu:

    World Map

    |---------

    | | |

    Town Menu | Dungeon

    | Menu /|

    | |

    Town Field Battle Field/Event

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    10/329

A "Field" screen is defined as a screen you can run around, speak with

    people,

examine object, or fight battles. It it different from the World Map

    and

Menu screens because in those screens, you point and click the option

    you

    want.

The World Map is first encountered once you clear the first series of

    events

in the game. Travelling on the World Map takes "time" in the form of

    days and

seasons. The World Map is a "Menu" type screen in that you cannot

    control

    your character directly.

From the World Map, you may enter a Town, Dungeon, or the Menu

    screens. The

Menu screen is opened by pressing the Y Button. Towns or dungeonsdepend on

where your cursor is over and where your character is currently

    located. If

your Hero is currently in a Forest or Desert, he's more likely than

    not in a

    dungeon.

Dungeon Screens have chests, random encounters and are generally areas

    you

can explore. In Dungeons, press the X Button to open the Menu and the

A button to open the Menu Screen. Control your character by pressing

    left to

head left, right to head right, and the like.

Town Menus are encountered when you enter a town area. Town areas

    usually

have an Inn, Item Shop, Weapon Shop, and various other areas, such as

    a

Residence or Town Square where you will visit when events occur. To

    choose

which area to enter, press up and down on the control pad and press A

    to

enter the area. When you select an area from the Town menu, you're

    brought

to a Town Field area, where you can control your character.

When trvaelling on Field Screens, do you notice the different colors

    on the

doors when you switch areas? They look like "dots" or even have a

    "Diamond"

shape and only occur where the area changes.

    Green:

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    11/329

    -------------------

If the door color is Green, you're staying in the same area, but

    switching

screens to a new portion of the same area. For example, in a dungeon

    moving

from one level to another. If you're in Town, typically the only time

you'llsee this Green "dot" is in an Inn, when you're visiting other rooms in

    the

same area. This is mostly seen in larger dungeons.

    Red:

    -------------------

This typically occurs in Towns. When you're exploring a field area in

    a town,

you'll notice a red dot that signifies the exit to the Town Menu

    screen.

Basically, what Red is saying is that you're heading back to the "Area

    Select"on the Town screens.

The only other time you'll find this is in a large field-type screen,

    such as

Citro Plains. In an area like that, when you approach a town, you'll

    see a

red dot signifying entrance to the area.

    Yellow:

    -------------------

Typically only seen in Dungeons and open field-type areas, this color

    means

you're going to head onto the World Map. It basically signifies the

    exit

    to a dungeon or field.

Watching the colors will make your travels quite a bit easier.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    --- Days and Seasons

    ---

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    -bs3ds-

Suikoden Tierkreis has system of seasons and days that determine when

    certain

events are shown. Each time you travel somewhere, a certain amount of

    days

passes. Days do not pass while you're on the Field Map, but days DO

    pass when

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    12/329

you spend the night at an Inn.

You'll notice the numbers at the top left corner of the screen, along

    with a

strange icon. The game starts and it looks something like a dark blue

    face.

as the game continues, the icon changes to what looks like a closedRose.

Finally, later on, the icon changes to a Flower open in full bloom.

    This

is what significies what season you're in.

The blue/black, circular, face-like icon represents "Sprout" Season.

The pink and green flower that looks like a Rose before it blooms is

    the "Bud"

    season.

The open, pink and yellow, flower is "Flower" Season.

    The order of seasons is simple:Sprout -> Bud -> Flower -> Sprout -> Bud -> Flower. . . . . .

Each "Season" lasts an in-game "month," which is 30 days long.

Feel free to spend as much time as you want running around on the

    world map,

as you could spend years and years game-time running around and the

    story won't

    be altered.

    The seasons alter:

    Certain character recruitment events.

    Trade Rumors.

Encountering strong area "Boss" monsters in a normal random encounter.

To elaborate on "encountering strong area 'boss' monsters. . .," Jale

    comments

early on about how a strong monster appears in Flesaria Forest during

    Flower

Season. If you run around, you may eventually encounter this "area

    boss."

The area bosses are typically large monsters.

To see if an area has an "Area Boss" in another season, you need to

fight abit. If you encounter "baby" type enemies, such as Larva, Chick,

    Buds, or

anything that signifies they're not a full-grown enemy, come back in a

    season

or two and you can fight the adult version.

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    13/329

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    --- The Menus

    ---

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    -bs4mu-

The Menu is a screen you will see quite often in Suikoden Tierkreis.

    You

will manage your characters, items, formation, weapons, and armor on

    the menu

screen. There are quite a few types of Menu Screen, such as the

    Quest,

    Town, and Party Menu screens.

    Town Menu:

    -------------------

The Town Menu is encountered when you enter any normal town.Depending on

the Town, the order of each area changes, but typically there are

    three types

of "fields" to enter from a town: Event Area, Exploration, and Shop

    area.

Event Areas are areas to progress through the game and you're almost

    always

told to go there by the story itself.

Exploration areas are areas such as a "Residence" or "Plaza" that

    don't have

anything to do with the immediate story, but may be used later or have

    some

information about the Story, World, or Characters you may find

    interesting.

Shops usually involve spending or making Potch. Shops include

    Weapon/Armor/

Accessories, an Inn, and a Trading center. Not all towns have all of

    the

    above.

    Quest Menu:

    -------------------

You do not have immediate access to the Quest Screen. But once you

    can use

Moana, you can start accepting quests from the Quest Menu.

The top option on the Quest Menu will allow you to see which Quests

    are

available. Depending on the Icon on the Left side of the screen by

each Quest Name, the Quests are different types:

A quest with a exclamation point, "!," denotes a "Mission," which are

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    14/329

required for the Storyline. Some Quests, are also required for the

    Storyline.

A Hero icon, with a Main Character head on it, means the Main

    Character must

go personally. These are usually in character recruitment type

quests. This type of quest is called a "Leader Quest."

A Flag Icon indicated a Dispatch quest, where you send a party of

    characters

for a certain amount of "Dispatch" days in order to complete the

    Quest. Some

Dispatch Quests require certain stats to be high, such as Physical

    Attack

Power or Luck. You'll know if the character will do well in a Quest if

    they

react enthusiastically through their text on the top screen.

Note that while a Character is "Dispatched" on a Quest, you cannot use

    them

in battle or for events, so make sure they're back and have reported

    if you

    send important characters out.

Once you have access to the Corridor, which occurs after a story

    event, you

can warp to the Corridor through the Quest Menu. The Corridor will

    allow

you to use Wi-Fi and do Quests with other players.

The "View Quest History" Icon allows you to read the descriptions of

    previously completed quests.

By "Reporting" a Quest or Mission, you get the reward. In many cases,

    you

cannot accept a new Story Mission or Quest until you've reported an

    old one.

Accepting a Quest will start a Quest and Viewing Quests will allow you

    to

view your currently accepted and not-reported Quests.

    Party Menu:

    -------------------

Items: Allows you to sort, view, and use your current Items, Key

    Items,

Weapons, and Armor. Key Items usually have some relevance to the

    story,

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    15/329

while Weapons and Armor are equippable by characters. Unlike in

    previous

Suikoden games, you do not have to equip items to characters to be

    able to use

    them in battle.

LVL Represents Current character level. The higher this goes, thehigher

    the character base stats get.

EXP is the Experience into a level a character is. Once the EXP total

    hits

1,000, the Character levels up to the next level and the counter is

    reset to

    0 again.

The Heart Icon is "HP" or "Health/Hit Points."

The shiny yellow star-like Icon represents "MP" or "Magic Points."

    -------------------

Equipment: This command allows you to change equipment for each partymember. Not every character can wear every type of weapon and armor.

    Some

character, such as the main character, can equip two one-handed

    weapons, such

as swords. Other characters, such as Marica, are stuck with single-

    wield

and a Shield. Picking weapons for pure attack power is not always the

    best

    option, especially on a Mage.

Also, you can check weapon types from the Equipment Screen. Different

    weapons

produce different types of damage. In fact, the types of damage is

practically identical to Persona 3, if you've ever played that. For

    example,

Hand-To-Hand type weapons deal Strike based damage, Spears and Bows

    deal

Pierce, while Axes and Swords deal Slash type damage. There will be

    more

about types of damage in the Battle section.

Also important on this screen is Weapon Range, which is used in

    battle.

When checking a weapon, be sure not only to look at the "type," but

the"range" as well. For example, certain types of Mage Staff may not

    have a

"type," but they do have a Range: L, which stands for Long.

S: Short Range, does best in the front row in battle. Cannot attack

    when in

    the back row.

M: Medium Range, can attack when in the front and back rows.

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    16/329

L: Does best in the back row in battle, can attack from the front and

    back

rows. Generally not as powerful as short range and medium range

    weapons.

The weapon equipped to your characters do not influence stat

progression.Switch in-between weapons based on situation as much as you'd like.

    -------------------

Marks of the Stars: This command allows you to view your currently

    equipped

Marks of the Stars. This command is not available right at the

    beginning of

the game but unlocks slightly later on. And, even later, you'll be

    able to

manipulate your Marks in order to choose which ones you want to use on

    each

    character.

You can only Use a Mark out of battle if it's a Recovery type, such as

    one

    that will restore your HP.

    -------------------

    Quest:

The Quest Command covers both Quests and Missions. Only Quests that

    you have

Active and are not reported to Moana are found in the Quest section.

    If

you forget where you are in the game after a break for a few days, you

    can

select your current Quest and press the A Button. This will give you

    the

"Quest Details," which are basically hints on where to go next. You

    cannot

cancel or accept new Quests from the Quest command in the party Menu.

    -------------------

    Formation:

This important command allows you to change the formation of the

    characters

you use in battle. Weaker characters with less HP, mostly mages,

usuallydo best in the back row where they'll take less damage. Stronger

    characters

who specialize in physical attacks and have decent defense generally

    stay

    in the Front Row.

Though there are six spaces, you can only use four characters maximum.

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    17/329

When placing your characters, it's important to remember not only

    their roles,

but their weapon types. A Hand-to-Hand user will be unable to attack

    from

the back row, since he is a "S," attacker as found on weapon

    descriptions on

the "Equipment" portion of the Menu Screen. The "S" means he's ashort

range attacker that can only attack physically from the front row. A

    "L" means

that the character can attack physically from the back row, has

    greater

accuracy there, and will still do complete damage.

S: Short Range, does best in the front row in battle. Cannot attack

    when in

    the back row.

M: Medium Range, can attack when in the front and back rows.

L: Does best in the back row in battle, can attack from the front andback

rows. Generally not as powerful as short range and medium range

    weapons.

Because the front and back rows only have three slots, you're going to

    need

at least one of a Short or Long range fighter no matter which

    characters you

    choose to use.

    -------------------

    Character Information:

This section allows you to see your character stats and information

    about

the character, as well as their title. Some characters, such as the

    Hero and

important story characters, sometimes change their character Title and

    Descriptions as the story progresses.

Here's a quick view at what each icon means and how they will affect

    your

    performance in battle.

Base Values are found when completely unequipped with gear.

Sword, top left: Total attack power.

    Strength+Weapon Attack Power=Total Attack Power

Base strength would be found by completely removing your weapons. If

    you're

Dual Wielding weapons, both weapons are factored into the Total Attack

    Power.

Accessories and Armor can also raise your Total Attack Power.

Attack Power is how strong your physical attacks are.

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    18/329

Shield, left: Total Physical Defense Power or base Base

    Defense/Vitality+

    Equipment Defense.

The higher this stat is, the less damage you'll take from physical

    attacks.

Heavy armor is the best way to raise your Physical Defense Power.Robes

generally give you less Physical Defense. If a character uses a one-

    handed

weapon and a Shield, he is likely to increase his physical defense as

    well.

Magic, top right: The wand represents Total Magic Power. If you're

    using a

Staff, this value will be Base Magic Power+Magical Staff Attack Power.

Accessories and Robes can also raise Total Magical Attack Power.

Magical Attack Power is how strong your Magical Attacks are.

Shield, right: Total Magical Defense Power, or Base Magical

    Defense+Equipped

Magical Defense. Usually, Accessories, Shields, and some Robes grant

    Magical

    Defense Power.

Magical Defense is your resistance towards Magical Attacks. The

    higher it is,

the less damage you'll take from magic.

Hand, left: Total Skill, or Base Skill+Equipped Skill.

This is hit percentage and multiple attack potential.

Skill is typically raised through Hand-to-Hand type weapons and

    accessories.

Running Man, right: Total "Speed/Agility." Or Base

    Speed/Agility+Equipped

    Speed Agility.

How quickly a character acts in battle and possibly their chance at

    evading

    attacks.

Shoe type Accessories are generally the best way to raise

    Speed/Agility.

Star, left: Total Luck, or Base Luck+Equipment Luck

It's believed to affect critical hit rates and possibly Escape rates.Typically, the only way to raise Luck is by levelling or through

    equipment.

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    19/329

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    ---------

    -bs5ba-

Suikoden Tierkreis is a turn-based RPG that uses four members in

    battle.

    HP and MP:

    --------------------------------

Enemies deal damage to your Health, or HP, and you deal damage to

    their health

in return. You can view your health for each member by looking at the

    top

    screen of your DS.

The Value by the Heart Represents Current Health/Total Health.

When HP falls to 0, the character falls unconscious, or is "KO'd,"also

known as "Knocked Out." You can revive them with Revival Statue

    items, but

they also regain consciousness after the battle ends, but with only 1

    HP.

There are six ways to recover HP:

    - Items, such as Medicine and Mega Medicine can be used by everyone.

    - Recovery Marks, which, in the Suikoden Tierkreis Worlds, is magic.

    If a

character does not naturally have healing magic, such as Healing

    Gleam, he or

she cannot recover HP through Marks. Recovery-type Marks can be used

    on

    characters that are not

    - Support Marks. Unlike Recovery Marks, Support Marks are character-

    specific

and their abilites will not transfer to others. Support Marks include

    a type

    of Auto-Regeneration, for example.

    - Support Characters, such as Erin, can recover some HP to your active

    party

    every round.

    - By spending the night at an Inn, you will fully recover your HP and

MP.- Certain story events will automatically recover your HP and MP.

Magic works the same way. Using special skills, which you do not

    initially

have at the beginning of the game, you can use your MP. MP is not

    damaged

by enemies, however, but when you run out you will be unable to use

    any more

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    20/329

    Magic-type abilities.

You can recover MP in three ways:

    - Items, such as Mint, can recover your MP.

    - Spending the night at an Inn will fully recover your HP and MP.

    - Certain story events will automatically recover your HP and MP.

    The Flow of Battle:

    --------------------------------

At the start of battle, you will see three choices on the left side of

    your

screen. The three commands stand for:

    Sword: Individual Command

Person holding a sword: Automatic Battle

    Person Running: Flee the battle.

There are also more commands that you will obtain later on.

By choosing Auto-battle, the characters in your current battle party

    will only

use Physical attacks for a round, and you will not be able to

    determine which

enemy they target. Though this seems bad, this is actually a way to

    quickly

finish off groups of enemies that are weak. This is also good if

    you're bored

with random encounters in each area and just want to pay the minimum

    amount

of attention. Generally, you will not use this during boss fights.

By choosing "Individual Command," you can choose commands for your

    characters

yourself. These are more varied than the simple "Attack" command.

Attack: Allows you to attack Physically.

    --------------

Marks of the Stars: A choice you get later in the game, Marks act as

    "Magic."

Marks require MP to use and when you have no MP left, the names of the

    Marks

will be grey. The required MP to use Marks is found in the bottomright of

    each option.

    --------------

Cooperative Attacks: Signified by two hands holding each other,

    Cooperative

Attacks require two or more specific party members in your group. For

    example,

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    21/329

Jale and Selen have the Cooperative Attack "Martial Artists."

    Experiment with

different characters in battle together and

    --------------

Defense: By Defending, your characters will take less damage per

    round. If a

Short (S) ranged weapon is on a character in the back row and youchoose to

"Attack," the Short ranged character will automatically defend

    instead.

You can tell when a Monster is defending by the Yellow marks surround

    them at

    the beginning of the round.

    ---------------

Items: Allows you to use Items from your Bag. Unlike previous

    Suikoden titles,

Items do not have to be equipped onto a character to use them in

    battle.

Once you've given commands to your party, you're given the option to

    confirm

you've chosen all of your actions correctly. Choose to continue and

    watch

how your actions and the enemy actions work for the round!

Typically, Battle Flow will look something like this:

    Round 1 Commands -> Battle: Character/Monster Turns -> Support

    Character ->

    Round 2 Commands -> Battle. . .

    And so on.

Be sure to watch your HP every round and use Items or Marks to heal

    it!

    Damage:

    --------------------------------

Damage in Suikoden Tierkreis isn't as simple as "Attack Power vs

    Defense

Power." While it's true that having a weapon with Higher Attack Power

will, generally, do more damage, there are other factors that influence the

    damage done to enemies.

First, and most importantly, Rows in battle and Weapon Range.

When choosing a weapon for your characters, it is important to choose

    a

balance of weapon ranges. You can tell the range of a weapon by

    checking it

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    22/329

    on the equipped weapon itself.

    Short (S) Range: Fists/Hand-To-Hand, Hammers, Claws, Two-handed

    Swords, One-

    Handed Swords

Medium (M) Range: Axes, Spears, Clubs

Long (L) Range: Throwing Knives, Bows, Boomerangs, Magical Staves,Guns

So a character with a Fist in the back row will be completely unable

    to

physically attack! Be sure that characters are in proper formation

    before

    even beginning a battle.

It's true that a weapon with higher attack power is generally better,

    however

some other factors can trump it.

First, some characters can dual wield weapons. The Hero is capable of

    dual-

wielding one-handed weapons, no one can dual wield a two-handed weapon

    such as

an Axe or Spear, such as Swords. Two One-handed swords will almost

    always

have a higher attack power than a single two-handed weapon. However,

    not

every character can Dual Wield and instead can only use Shields with

    one-handed

    weapons.

Next, Skill is an important part of dealing damage. When you attack,

    surely

you notice how many times a character can attack each turn? Well not

    all of

those attacks Hit. Skill will help determine how many times a

    character

can attack each time they run up and how many of those total attacks

    will

    hit.

Weapon "Type" is very important. This is new to the Suikoden series

    and you

should master it before getting too far into the game.

There are three weapons "Types," Slash, Strike, and Pierce.

You can tell a weapon type by checking the Equipped weapon. All

    weapons,

except magical staves, have a "type."

Here's a basic list of weapons and their types:

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    23/329

Slashing: One-Handed Swords, Two-Handed Swords, Axes, Throwing

    Knives/Daggers

Striking: Clubs, Hammers, Bommerangs, Fists (NOT Claws)

Piercing: Spears, Bows, Claws (NOT Fists), Guns

Certain enemies have certain strengths and weaknesses to weapons. You

cansee an enemy weakness when targeting them in battle.

The Slash, which is Sword and Axe-type weapons, is denoted by a

    crescent.

A large, circular star-ish shape represents Strike, which is Fist and

    Club

type weapons. The yellow shape that seems to be facing upwards, in

    something

of a triangle or arrowhead shape, represents pierce, which is Spear

    and Bow

    type weapons.

If, when fighting a monster, the mark below said monster is blocked

    out and

has a line through it, it means the monster is resistant to that type

    of

attacks. For example, if the Slash icon has a line through it, then

    Swords

and Axes won't do damage as effectively. The icon is generally grey

    when this

    happens.

If there is no sign of any of the types of weaknesses or strengths,

    the

monster in question is neutral towards attacks and your attacks will

    do

"normal" damage, rather than additional or resisted damage.

    Status Effects:

    --------------------------------

The game does very little to explain status effects to you and the

    instruction

manual doesn't bother to at all.

Status effects, both negative and positive, become frequent throughout

    thegame.

Also, unlike many, many RPGs using negative status effects on the

    enemy is

actually useful in Suikoden Tierkreis. In particular, Sleep,

    Paralyze, and

Unbalance will make your battles much easier. You can easily kill

    some minor

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    24/329

area bosses, the season bosses, by sleeping them and using the "Spark"

    command.

    Negative Status Effects:

Poison: Denoted by a skull over a character's head, the character's HP

willbe drained at the end of every battle round. Antidotes cure this

    status.

Unbalance: Denoted by a little circle over a character's head,

    Unbalance

means that the character has fallen off balance, usually due to an

    enemy

attack or from certain Marks. Unbalance is cured naturally after a

    few rounds,

but it leaves your characters defenseless.

Sleep: Like Unbalance, your characters are completely defensless whenslept,

which is denoted by a "zzz" over a character's head. Characters will

    wake

up when physically attacked by an enemy.

Paralyze: Paralyze has a chance of stopping the actions of the

    character.

When paralyzed, sometimes a character will get the action off and

    other times

he won't. This wears off naturally aftera few rounds.

    Silence: Represented with a ". . ." over a character's Head, Silence

    will not

allow a character to use magic. However, Physical marks, such as

    Masterpiece,

    work just fine.

Heartbreak: A character inflicted with this status effect, signified

    by a

broken and crying heart over the character's head, will be unable to

    participate in cooperative attacks.

Confusion: Signified by a black curly line over a character's head, a

confused character does not take direct commands from you and may even

    attackhis or her own allies.

Bucket: One of the rarest status effects, this seems to hinder your

    hit

    percentage.

    Positive Status Effects:

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    25/329

Barriers: There are two types of barriers that increase your

    resistance to

    physical and magical damage, respectively.

Fury/Rage: Denoted by a red steam over a character's head, Rage

    raises the

affected character's attack power at the expense of some defense.Very useful

for your physical damage dealers. The Mark "Ire" can cause Rage, as

    can two

characters with a close relationship. If there are two close

    characters in

battle and one falls into critical health or falls unconscious, the

    second

    will become enraged automatically.

Spring of Life: This Mark of the Stars allows a character to recove a

    small

amount of HP every round. It's an automatic status effect and cannotbe

    turned off.

Alert: Similar to the Rage/Fury effect, Alert instead increases the

    power of

magical attacks. Certain Marks of the Stars can cause this effect

    onto a

    character.

After the opening cutscenes and naming your character, you gain

    control.

Check the glowing blue orb next to where you start to save your game.

    There's

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    35/329

nothing else to do in the Gathering Spot, so exit the area and watch a

    short

scene. Enter the newely opened Town Square.

Speak with the first man you come to on the right, he's in blue, and

    you'll

meet Dirk. After a short scene, exit the Town Square and enter thenewely

    opened Elder's House.

Inside the Elder's House watch another scene. Speak with Sisuca and

    Rajim if

you want to, but otherwise there's nothing else to do here exit to the

    General

Store. You receive MEDICINE x4 and now Jale joins the party. If you

    wish, take

some time to shop at the General Store, but there's not a lot you can

    buy at

this point with a measly 100 Potch to your name. The Village Woman inthis

area gives you a nice tip to start with: While trading, Cotton Threads

    sell

    well in Citro Village.

Once you're ready, exit the General Store and head back to the Town

    Square.

Watch another short scene. Dirk joins your party and you automatically

accept your first Mission. He gives you some brief information on

    Missions and

tells you that they can be checked from the main menu.

    ---------------------------------------------------

Mission: Get Rid of Eastern Laggarts

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Client: Mayor Rajim -c1m1l-

    Reward: 500 Potch

    Description:

The Laggarts from the Eastern Hill have been wreaking havoc near the

    village

lately. I want you to take care of them, but be careful! They've

    gotten really

    vicious.

    Information:

    - Citro Village Defense Corps outing.- Monster Hunting

    - Around the Eastern Hill

    - By the end of the day. At this point, the time limit doesn't

    matter.

    ---------------------------------------------------

Exit the Town Square and then choose to "Exit Village." You may want

    to head

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    36/329

back to the Gathering Spot and save your game before, though.

Note that from now on, you'll find someone at the Gathering Spot that

    asks you

if you want to rest. Resting acts as an Inn and allows you to recover

    any

lost health. Come back to the Gathering Spot if, at any time duringyour

    mission, you're weakened.

Enemies: Grass Squirrel, Laggart, X Bee

You actually have to get to the Eastern Hill before you can complete

    your

mission. Spend some time fighting on the world map before you continue

    to help

level up your level 1 characters. You should also note the

    Cooperative attack

that requires all four members of your group.

You'll want to switch Dirk and Marica's positions in battle, since

    Marica

    starts with a Bow.

Just to the south of the village and a bit to the east is a small area

    called

the Farmer's House. Speak with the farmer, Yadima, and a short scene

    will

play. Though visiting Yadima is optional for now, he is a a

    recruitable

character later on and it's good to know where he is.

From the Farmer's House, continue east and then north. Ideally,

    you'll want

to fight around a bit and maybe hit level 2 or 3. Dirk gives you some

adviceabout weapon effectiveness in a short scene next to your goal.

"There are three basic ways to attack: Slash, Pierce, and Strike.

    'Slash' with

a one-handed swordm 'Pierce' with a Spear or arrows, and 'Strike' with

    a cudgel

    or fists."

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    37/329

This is very important, so make sure you remember it when choosing

    weapons for

your party members later on. Continue north and enter the area.

After a short scene a quick battle automatically begins. It's thesame enemies

you've been fighting outside, so you shouldn't have any trouble. If

    you're

not having any problems with battles at this point, you may just want

    to choose

Auto-Battle to reduce the time spent fighting.

Follow the path east and then northwest. Press the circle button next

    to that

strange blue chest and you'll receive a MEGA MEDICINE. At the

    intersection just

to the north, go west. Open the chest up here and you'll get a CHEERY

    INCENSE,

which will be a useful item for a boss.

Head back to the intersection and head east this time. A large and

    glowing

blue orb, identical to the one found in the Gathering Spot, will act

    as a save

point. Save if you desire, but otherwise head east onto the next

    screen. Head

west up the next short screen and you'll be in a rocky area. Follow

    the rocky

path west, fight an encounter with some more Laggarts, and watch a

scene. Thechoice doesn't matter, you'll just head back anyway since there's a

    dead end.

Backtrack to the east and watch a scene and you head back west

    automatically.

Enemies: Laggart, X Bee, Grass Squirrel, Googly Seed, Spider Hopper,

    Thorn

Boss: Skull Guts, Skull Guts x3

After a short scene, you gain control over the Hero. Head west onto

    the next

screen for another scene. Now would be a good time to save your game

    and when

    you regain control, continue west.

Once you're in the Forest Ruins continue west for another scene.

    ============================================

    Boss: Skull Guts

    Items: Iron Orex1

This boss is quite a bit harder than the normal enemies in the area,

    with

normal attacks doing around 25-30 damage a hit. He also doesn't take

    a lot

of damage from your attacks, usually only around 10-20. Fortunately,

    it

doesn't have a ton of hitpoints, and you'll probably be able to kill

    it in

two rounds of normal attacks or Cooperative attacks. Skull Guts is

    more of a

"mid-boss." Just keep your HP around 50 and you'll be fine.

    ============================================

After a short scene, you're pretty much forced to "Run the Other Way,"

    and

you'll head west automatically. Continue west through two screens,

    there's

not much to do, and watch a scene on the third screen.

    ============================================

    Boss: Skull Guts x3

Items: Iron Ore x3, Medicine x2

As the game suggests, you can now use Marks of the Stars. With three

    Skull

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    39/329

Guts, you'd easy be overwhelmed with just physical attacks, so have

    everyone

use their "Marks." Your hero has Breath of Flame, Marica has "Healing

    Gleam,"

which is used to heal characters without using Medicine items, Jale

    has "Bind

Flash," and Dirk, unfortunately, doesn't have any.

Stick with normal attacks with Dirk and Marica while Jale and your

    Hero use

their "Marks" on separate foes. The Marks should do over 100 damage

    each and,

paired with Marica and Dirk's physical attacks, you should easily be

    able to

clear out the first Skull Gut on the first round or, if you're lucky,

    the

Hero's Breath of Flame might kill the first in one hit and your other

characters will kill the second Skull Gut on thefirst round. Either

way,on the second round, have the higher MP Hero, Jale naturally has 10 or

    so less

MP than the Hero, use Breath of Flame on the third Skull Gut and have

    everyone

physically attack. That should end the battle.

You probably won't need healing in this fight, but if you do, heal

    anyone who

has less than 50 HP with Marica's Healing Gleam.

    ============================================

You receive the SHINING LEGACY. Your HP and MP have been completely

    restored

and now you need to walk out. Head south off the boss screen and then

    back

east through three screens and when you exit the ruins, watch another

    scene.

Head back east two more screens and watch a scene. Mission

    Accomplished!

Now back at the Eastern Hill, head east back to the larger screen and

    then

head west to the intersection, where you should head back south.

Continue backwest and onto the world map.

Head east first and enter the Farmer's House. Speak with Yadima here

    for a

short scene. You can come back here later, since Liu wants to head

    back to

Citro, first. Head back to the World Map and go back north and re-

    ---------------------------------------------------

    Mission: Track Down Marica's Double

    ---------------------------------------------------Client: Marica -c2m2d-

    Reward: Bone Axe

    Description:

It's bad enough she's pretending to be me, but then she threatened the

villagers with a huge axe, too?! We've got to find this girl and see

    who she

    is!

    Information:

    - Find Marica's Double.

    - Looks just like Marica, but is reportedly wielding a big axe.

    - Went off into the north forest.

    ---------------------------------------------------

Since you probably have a ton of Laggart Pelts on you, Liu suggests

    you visit

the General Store before continuing. Listen to his recommendation and

    speak

to the woman in pink near the back of the screen. Originally, when

    you spoke

to her before, she told you about Cotton Threads. This time, she

    allows you

to trade. Choose to sell Trade Goods and sell some of your Laggart

    Pelts. If

you were lucky enough to get any Cotton Threads to drop, sell some of

    those,too.

Now that you should have some money, I suggest upgrading your

    equipment.

Buying a Leather Armor or two for your characters is a good idea.

    Please note

that the Robe is something of a waste for Marica, since her Mark is

    healing,

you may want to buy two Kukris for your Hero and have him dual wieldover

using the Cudgel, but you'll lose 2 attack power that way. It's your

    choice.

At the very least, I'd suggest getting one of them so you can dual-

    wield it

with a powerful sword you'll get later on.

Remember that you can save your game at the Gathering Spot, but

    otherwise,

there's nothing more you can do in the town. As you exit the village,

    watch

a scene. Dirk leaves your party.

You now have access to the full world map! If you want to run around

    in the

area you were before, choose to enter Citro Plains.

If you're feeling really lucky, you can do some risky levelling at

    this point.

There's a pretty large chance that you will die doing it, but if you

    succeed,

you'll get 5+ levels in your very first battle. It's certainly not

    necessary,

but if you like being overlevelled, go for it. It takes away some of

    the

challenge for the next few areas, however.

To do this, you need to enter the Citro Plains and head south beyond

    the

Farmer's House. You'll see a lake and a dungeon to the east.

    Continue south

and circle around the water to the east and enter the dungeon. In

    here, you're

looking for a set of two Ironripper Rats. Not any other groups of

    enemies,

just two of them. Escape until you encounter them. Then, once you

    do, you

must have your Hero and Jale use their Marks of the Stars on the sameenemy

each round until the first one is dead, while Marica uses Healing

    Gleam

every round. With the enemies doing 70 damage a hit, it requires a

    good

deal of luck to survive, but once you kill one monster off, you should

    be able

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    42/329

to easily deal with the second. If you are successful in this battle,

    your

level will skyrocket and you'll be able to kill more enemies here for

    fast

    level building.

    joins your

party, but he isn't usable in battle. If you speak with the man on the

    right,

he will let you rest to recover HP and MP.

There's nothing down the path to the south, so head east from the

    caravan.

Shortly into the next screen, watch a scene. There are three paths

    here, but

the eastern and Northern paths lead to dead ends, so head down the

    south/south-

eastern path. Follow this path east and northeast and watch another

    scene.

    ============================================

    Boss: Saw Kingfisher - Large

    Items: None

This isn't your normal Saw Kingfisher! This is a pretty

straightforward fight, considering your limited options. Use Breath of Flame with the Hero

    and Bind

Flash with Jale every round, while Marica attacks physically. Have

    Marica

use Healing Gleam whenever someone takes damage. If you find your

    physical

attacks to be stronger than your Marks of the Stars, which is possible

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

    43/329

depending on your level, stick with those, but otherwise the boss has

    very

high defense and you'll probably only be doing a tiny bit at a time.

After a few rounds, watch the scene.

    ============================================

Marica? joins your group. If you need to rest after that boss, head

    down the

far southeastern path, which leads to the World Map. You can head out

    if you

want to rest at Citro village to resupply or to get some new gear.

    You may

have some more Cotton Threads and Wool Yarns at this point, which will

    sell

    well in Citro.

Otherwise, just head north from the boss location. At the next

intersection, head west and follow the path west to the exit. Continue west through

    the next

screen, where you should head east until you reach an intersection.

    At this

intersection, head up the northern path and you'll go west. Open the

    chest

up here and you'll receive a MINT.

Head back to the intersection, this time taking the southeastern path.

    After

a few steps, you'll encounter another small intersection. Take the

    path to

the south and at the end, open the chest for a MEGA MEDICINE. Head

    back to the

intersection and continue east. Save your game at the glowing blue orb

    to the

north and as you head east, watch a scene. Exit Flesaria Forest -

    South.

Once you're on the World Map again, enter the Fortress Ruins.

Watch a scene and head southwest onto the next screen and continue

    west through

the next screen. You can't go up the stairs to the northwest just

yet, sohead south through the door. Continue west, and Marica? won't let you

    go all

the way, so go south for a scene.

After the scene, head back to the previous scene and head back east.

    Marica?

still won't let you head west, so just follow the eastern path and

    watch yet

another scene. You'll find the monster at the entrance, which is about

    two

    screens to the east.

    ============================================

    Boss: Saw Kingfisher - Renegade

    Items: Mega Medicine x1

As Marica? says, only she can kill the boss, but anyone can damage it.

    This

is pretty much the same battle as the previous one. The Saw

    Kingfisher can

deal a good amount of damage quickly, so make sure you heal when you

    get below

60 or so HP with Marica's Healing Gleam. Otherwise, attack if your

    physical

attacks do a good amount of damage or use your Marks of the Stars.

If no one needs healing, Marica and Marica? can use a Co-op attack

    that does

an extremely large amount of damage, usually over 150! You may even

    want to

use that every round and have your Hero use Medicines if anyone needs

    healing

while Jale attacks and Marica and Marica? use Counterparts every

    round.

This is another pretty fast and straightforward battle.

    ============================================

After the scenes, head back west and south through the screens until

    you reach

the Gateway again and Marica? eventually leaves your group.

Mission Accomplished! Hotupa joins your group and you can now use him

    to fight

with you. Moana also officially joins your group at this point, but

    you won't

be able to use her for some time.

Now we have a new goal. From the Gateway, head west and watch a short

    scene

and Moana joins you, however she is unusable in battle. Before youcontinue,

you may want to make sure you have some Antitoxins on you, since

    enemies can

poison you in the next area.

Watch a scene upon entry. Enter the Vendor/Trading Post for a scene

    and, as

you'll notice, prices are absolutely horrible. Don't bother buying

    anything

at all, but you needed to watch the scene triggered at the shop to

    continue.

Though the weapons may be appealing and you may have enough Potch toafford

them, they all have an extra 0 attached so don't be tempted.

If you have any Herbal Medicine from your fights, this is a nice place

    to

sell them. Laggart Pelts also sell extremely well here, you should

    probably

sell the rest of them that you have since Grayridge buys them at one

    of the

highest prices in the game. Of course, you could always wait until

    the next

town, which buys the pelts for 20 Potch more, but that's yourdecision.

Exit the shops and enter the Inn for another scene. There's a save

    point in

the northwestern portion of the Inn for you to use, but otherwise

    there's

nothing in the rooms. Exit the Inn when you're done for another

    scene.

There's nothing terribly important at the alley, so head to "Outside

    Ch Hall."

After the scene, head east and speak with Gilliam for your next scene.

Mission Accomplished! . . .Sort of.

Exit the Chapter Hall for another scene and listen to their advice.

    Head to

the Inn for your next scene, which is triggered by speaking to the

    Innkeeper.

Logan and Erin temporarily join your party, replacing Hotupa in

    battle.

Unfortunately, you can't remove him and use Hotupa at this point.

The Poison Vipers in this area are particularly nasty, as their normal

    physical

attack hits your entire front row for 30-40 damage! Be careful when

    fighting

them and keep your HP up. They have quite a bit of HP and may cause

    some

    problems at first.

After the opening scene, Logan and Erin officially join your group.

    Head north

and watch a short scene, the continue east and north and west until

    you reach

your first intersection. Head down the path to the south and follow

    this side

path south and west and south again. Go down the ladder to the next

    screen.

Down on the lower level, head east and south and at the very bottom of

    the

screen you'll find a chest containing an IRON SHIELD. head back north

and westup the ladder to the previous screen. Go back to the intersection,

    where you

will want to head west. Soon you'll reach another intersection.

At the second intersection, head west and follow the path south until

    you

reach what appears to be a dead end. It's not, however, and if you

    hug

  • 8/13/2019 Suikoden tierkesis

the left wall where there's a light coming out of it. You'll be able

    to

walk through the wall! Head south and you'll find a secret room with

    a chest

that contains a REVIVAL STATUE. Head back north and back to the

    intersection.

Head north, the path you didn't take last time, up this path until the

    very

top of the screen and you'll reach, guess what, another intersection.

    Head

east up here and follow the path until, once again, it appears to be a

    dead

end. Fortunately, the hidden path should be somewhat obvious this

    time. Hug

the right wall near the top corner, where the light is, and walk

    through the

wall to the hidden room where a chest containing an IRON SWORD awaits

you.Head back north and west to the intersection.

Head west and climb down the ladder. Watch a scene. When you regain

    control,

walk off the gateway platform to the north and head west. Hug the wall

    and

    exit to the southwest.

Now you should be in a green/yellow glowing area. Follow the southern

    path,

ignoring the ladder you'll probably see to the west. That's the

    ladder we

went down to get the Iron Shield, so there's no hidden path. Continue

    east

until you reach an intersection, where you should continue east.

    Soon, you'll

reach a second intersection. Ignore the southern path and continue

    east,

following the path south until you reach a third intersection. Head

    south

and open the chest at the dead end for an IRON ORE. Head back north up

    to the

    intersection.

This time, ignore the path to the south and head west, following thispath

west and then south until you reach another intersection. Ignore the

    south

path this time and continue back west. Follow this path north, west,

    and south

and climb down the ladder at the end to reach the next level.

On B3, you'll immediately encounter a save point to the east. I

    suggest

using it. If Jale has been using fists, hand-to-hand, you may want to
