like to explore local and regional destinations within San Diego County.

Transportation is not provided, participants are encouraged to carpool

the company of others, make new friends and take advantage of the

Join Santee Senior Group for the Book to Film club and discussion group.

Each month we’ll read a book, watch the movie, then join in a discussion

group with the librarian. Santee library, 9225 Carlton Hills Blvd.

Aquarium to escape the heat and enjoy the cooler temperatures that

our beautiful coast has to offer. View a stunning variety of colorful, Pacific marine life featured in more than 60

In partnership with the City of Santee, the Cameron Family YMCA operates an aquatics center that’s open to the general public as well as YMCA members. The center features a 25 meter-by-25-yard swimming pool, an activity pool with play

structure, a water slide and water exercise area and locker rooms. Group, private swim lessons and swim team are offered year round.

Mandatory Training Week:This week prepares Jr. Camp Leaders for their role with the summer day camp program. Participants must successfully complete the mandatory training week in order to be eligible to participate in the remaining day camp weeks. The mandatory training week is divided into two tracks: Varsity for returning Jr. Camp Leaders and Rookie for new Jr. Camp Leaders.

Varsity track is designed for Jr. Camp Leaders who have successfully completed the Jr. Camp Leader program between 2011 and 2014. This track builds on topics that Jr. Camp Leaders have experienced in previous years and introduces advanced training in leadership and professional development. Varsity level Jr. Camp Leaders will mentor Rookie Jr. Camp Leaders. The Rookie track is designed for potential Jr. Camp Leaders who have never participated in the Jr. Camp Leader program.

This track provides introductory level training and focuses on camp operations.

Registration for weeks 2-10 is open immediately (program needs and space restrictions apply). Participants who register for weeks 2-10 but do not successfully complete the training week will be credited or transferred to X-Factor Camp (age restrictions apply).

CPR and First Aid training will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015.

Jr. Robotics using LEGO® WeDo 7 - 8 Years

Build and program robots in this introductory Robotics class using the LEGO® WeDo system. Learn basic programming skills, simple engineering concepts, and the names of robot components. Work in small groups to complete several projects using tilt and motion sensors. This is a great way to prepare young Robotics enthusiasts for our more advanced Robotics programs.

Summer Songwriting Camp 7 - 17 Years During two weeks of intense creativity, students will write and record an original song, as well as gain a basic understanding of the legal and business sides of songwriting. They will experience the recording process, get song feedback from Grammy award winning music producer Joe Solo, and have their music recorded by Grammy Award winning sound engineer Alan Sanderson. All songs will be recorded and performed by the student and our live band of Staump Production musicians. Each student will be given a block of recording time at Pacific Beat Recording for their song. Students will rehearse their original music with the band in preparation for a live performance at the annual Staump Summer Jam held at the iconic Lestat's West music venue in San Diego. Students will be given an online worldwide distribution deal to sell their original song. Through this deal, their music will be made available to over 100 different countries and placed in over 700 online music stores. This camp is limited to 6 students.

Make Your Own Music Video 3 - 11 Years Calling all GIRLS & BOYS! Have you ever wanted to be in a music video? Transform into a singing, dancing pop star in this unique and fun hip-hop dance camp. Students will have access to a trunk of costumes, props, and accessories and learn hip-hop dance routines to their favorite songs from their favorite movies, radio, TV shows, you name it. Your child will even get to choreograph and perform their own dance and make a real music video which they will get a copy of on the last day to take home. Kinder Camp 4 - 6 Years Your young child will love attending this fun-filled summer camp. Enjoy creating wonderful art projects using many different types of media and to draw lots of subjects ranging from polliwogs and ponies to sharks and space shuttles. Campers explore the different parts of a garden and learn all about seeds, soil, and sprouts. The group will examine fruits, vegetables, plants and leaves using a microscope designed for preschoolers. Take home projects include a seed badge, sun visor, bean necklace, veggie placemat and bug bracelet.

Chef Janet Burgess will teach about kitchen safety and nutrition while kids prepare three dishes daily. Financial assistanceThe Voucher Incentive Program (V.I.P.) provides financial assistance, to children, teens, and seniors to participate in city recreation programs. Funding is provided through funds raised by the Santee Park and Recreation Committee (SPARC) and recreation activity donations. To be eligible, applicants must live in Santee and have a total household income that meets U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines. Applications can be obtained at Santee City Hall, 10601 Magnolia Avenue, Building 6. For more information call (619) 258-4100 ext. 222.

I, the undersigned parent/person having legal custody/guardianship of the above said minor, give permission for the minor to participate in all YMCA programs. The minor is physically able and mentally prepared to participate in all activities as described in the announcement for the program. I do hereby authorize the YMCA as agent for the undersigned, to consent with respect to said minor, to any x-ray examination, anesthetic, medical, dental, or surgical diagnosis or treatment, and hospital care which is deemed advisable by, and is to be rendered under general or special supervision of, any physician and surgeon licensed under the provisions of the California Medical Practice Act on the medical staff of any hospital, whether such diagnosis or treatment is rendered at the office of the physician or at the hospital. I understand that the YMCA is not responsible for costs incurred for medical care.

Banquet FacilitiesThe city rents rooms for banquets, receptions, business seminars, etc. at reasonable prices. Three different-sized rooms - the largest can accommodate up to 200 people for meetings and 130 for dining - are available at Santee City Hall at 10601 Magnolia Avenue in Santee.

Park PavilionsA great place for hosting family reunions, birthday parties or celebrations in one of Santee’s well-maintained public parks. Shaded picnic pavilions can be reserved at the city’s six major parks by purchasing a permit from the Community Services Department. An additional permit is required to reserve space in designated areas for inflatable air jumps or to bring in a caterer or other vendor.

Reservation permits are accepted by fax or in person at Santee City Hall, Building 6. Find out if the pavilion you want is available by calling (619) 258-4100 ext. 222.
