Baseball - Boys
Each camp session will focus on individual skill development such as catching, throwing, fielding, and hitting. Campers will have multiple opportunities to work on developing and improving their skills using age-appropriate drills. Camp will be run by the YHS Varsity Baseball Coach and members of the coaching staff, along with current and former players from the baseball program. Emphasis will be placed on structured, well-supervised activities to prevent injuries.
Students entering Grade 9 who plan to try out for YHS Baseball the following spring are encouraged to participate in the YHS Baseball Camp for incoming freshmen.
Location Camp will be held rain or shine at the Yorkville High School Varsity Baseball Field, located at 119 W. Somonauk Street (east of the YHS Academy).
Bring Grades 3-8: glove and bat, water bottle or sports drink, gym shoes (required), and baseball cleats
Grade 9: glove and bat, water bottle or sports drink, gym shoes (required), baseball cleats, sweats or baseball pants (catchers should bring their catcher’s gear)
Note Grade 9: In the event District 115’s school year is extended due to its use of emergency days, campers will be notified by the Athletic Department of any changes to camp dates and times.

Campers will have multiple opportunities to work on developing and improving their skills using age-appropriate drills. Camp will be run by the YHS Baseball coaching staff and current and former players from the YHS baseball program.

SUMMER ATHLETIC CAMPS
Basketball - Boys
Basketball Camp teaches the fundamental skills every player needs before making a contribution to the team. Individual instruction will ensure every athlete who is willing to work hard and learn will see a measurable improvement in skills by the end of the session. The staff works to develop players to their fullest potential while making the camp an enjoyable experience for all campers.

Basketball - Girls
The Lady Foxes summer camp is a five-day skills-based camp that focuses on individual development and fundamental skill work. All athletes who come and are willing to work will leave with better skills, drills, and workouts that they can continue to do on their own.

Cheer
Campers will be instructed in cheerleading basics including stretching, jumps, cheer, dance, and stunting for appropriate levels. Tumbling is not covered at YHS Cheer camp in sessions 1 and 2. Emphasis will be placed on individual development and fundamental skill work. This will be achieved through individual instruction and support.

Cheer Stunt Clinic
The Stunt Clinic is open to students in Grades 5-8 who are interested in cheerleading. The campers will be instructed mostly in stunting terminology, safety, technique, and skills but also spend some time with cheerleading basics including stretching, jumps, and motions for appropriate levels. Emphasis will be placed on individual development and fundamental skill work. This will be achieved through individual instruction and support.

Dance - Girls
Campers will be instructed on basic dance technique, such as jumps, leaps, and turns. They will also have the opportunity to learn a halftime dance routine and sideline routines for appropriate levels. Emphasis will be placed on development and fundamental skill work.

Endurance Camp
Endurance Camp provides participants with guided distance training based on the ability of each individual. Training will include a variety of workouts, each of which will take into account the ability of each athlete. Those thinking of participating in the camp should not be discouraged by their current endurance level. The intention of the Endurance Camp is to guide participants to a desired level of fitness for his/her sport.

Football - Boys
Camp participants in Grades 1-6 will learn Foxes football terminology and skills in a safe, non-contact environment. The focus of this camp is for current YHS coaches and players to introduce campers to the various skills and positions in football.
Middle school participants will learn skills in a safe, non-contact environment. The focus of this camp is to provide drills and terminology that athletes will be able to use in their seasons at YMS or in Yorkville Youth Tackle Football. New players are welcome as it is a great way to learn from current YHS/YMS coaches and players.
High school camp participants will improve on their football skills, which will include strength, running, form, and other skills related to specific positions, game knowledge, and work ethic. Campers will also learn the Yorkville Football philosophy and terminology from current coaches, to be used in summer 7-on-7s and during the season.

Soccer
The goal of the camp is to provide a positive place for soccer players to learn and enhance their soccer skills and team concepts, as well as their understanding of the soccer program. This camp will create an opportunity for the current soccer coaches to teach fundamentals to the soccer players of the future, while also giving the participants the opportunity to work with local soccer trainers for further individualized support and instruction.

This camp will create a common understanding to the future high school soccer athletes of the expectations and philosophies that they will encounter upon entering the JV and varsity levels. With both middle school and high school coaches coordinating the camp, a curriculum of skills will be implemented in hopes of creating a true understanding by every player of the necessary skills and conditioning to earn a spot in the soccer program, either as a middle school athlete or a future high school player.

This camp will allow players to interact with the YHS Softball staff and both current and former varsity players.

Strength & Conditioning
Yorkville High School offers a free strength and conditioning program to high school students throughout the summer months. The coaching staff focuses on proper form and technique, individual strength and conditioning gains, and teamwork in a strength and conditioning setting. Emphasis is placed on effort, positive attitudes, commitment, and integrity.

Tennis
The camp is designed to teach and practice the fundamentals of tennis in an encouraging setting. All levels of experience are welcome. Coaches will teach and review form on groundstrokes, volleys, and serves, and players will receive drill and game-time on the court. High school level sessions will help prepare new and returning players for the upcoming season.
Rain make-up dates are Fridays of each week, and if necessary, during the third week of June.

Track & Field
The purpose of the track and field summer camp is to learn, train, and compete in the events of track and field. All abilities and experience levels are welcome. Athletes will be given opportunities to learn skills specific for the relays, hurdles, high jump, and sprints. The camp runs for four weeks to provide plenty of opportunities to learn, train, and compete. The focus of the camp will be to prepare athletes to attend at least one of the meets in the summer track and field series. Yorkville will host the first of three summer meets. Yorkville athletes will receive free entry into the YHS meet. The other meets will be hosted by Plainfield South and Neuqua Valley. More details on the meets, including dates, will be available once camp begins. While there is a diverse age range among campers, younger athletes (Grades 3-5) will have different and separate training than the older athletes (Grades 6-12).

The Yorkville High School Volleyball Camp provides each camper with fundamental training based on the skills and age level of each individual player. Training will include work on individual positions, breaking down and teaching the various aspects of volleyball, and putting each camper through a variety of drills. Each activity will take into account the individual capabilities of the athlete. Those thinking of participating in the camp should not be discouraged by lack of prior experience or knowledge about the sport.
