Black Rocket STEAM (Science, Technology,

Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) classes

are powered by student imagination and designed to bring ideas to life in a fun, hands-on learning

environment that mirrors real-life experiences and the collaborative nature of the

design process. Students work in pairs or teams for most of

the program. Projects will be accessible on a private password-protected Black Rocket site to share with

friends and family.

BATTLE ROYALE: MAKE YOUR FIRST FORTNITE® STYLE VIDEO GAMEFans of Fortnite®, we need you! Come design your own game using professional 3D game development software to build levels and assets inspired by popular battle royale games like Fortnite®. This course includes cartoonish action and battle sequences.

BRICKS AND STICKS STOP ANIMATIONTake your stop motion movies to the next level! First, create a story with Stikbots®, Legos®, action figures … or all three! Then watch your story come to life using special stop motion software that allows the addition of special effects above and beyond the everyday options of a typical mobile device. Students will need to bring in figures, Stickbots® and/or Legos® from home. All other equipment will be provided.

ESPORTS APPRENTICE – YOUTUBE© STREAMERS AND GAMERSNo longer just a hobby, eSports is the fastest growing career for the next generation. In this course, students will develop competitive game-play skills, learn how to produce commentary for live tournaments, use professional streaming software and practice online safety. MINECRAFT© DESIGNERS If you love the game Minecraft and have always wanted to design your own world, this class is for you! Learn how to create a custom map, the basics of creating 3D models using a new software to design your very own objects, how to build with Redstone and Command blocks, and how to create custom textures for you to import at home or share with friends. Students must own a Java version of Minecraft to access their projects at home. Tablet, phone and game console versions of Minecraft are not compatible. The PADI Seal Team is for any young scuba divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by completing exciting Aqua Missions as you learn responsibility and respect for the aquatic realm. Aqua Missions 1-5 cover basic scuba diving skills, such as breathing underwater, clearing a mask of water, recovering a regulator and experiencing the sensation of underwater weightlessness.

Anyone who has completed the PADI Seal Team class is eligible to take the Master Seal Team class. Master Seal Team participants will complete 10 specialty Aqua Missions. These adventures include creature identification, search and recovery diving, underwater photography and wreck diving.

Once registered, students must contact Adventure Dive and Travel for information regarding apparel, required safety forms and additional camp details.

Camp GOTR combines the best of Girls on the Run with all the fun of camp! During this session, girls beginning grades 3-5 will build friendships in a fun and inclusive setting that includes playing interactive games, being physically active and expressing creativity through art, crafts and storytelling. Led by caring and qualified Girls on the Run coaches, Camp GOTR provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for girls to develop self-confidence, learn life skills they can use now and as they grow, and have fun with friends. During this dynamic camp session, girls will learn about the power they possess to recognize emotions in themselves and others, and how to express their feelings through fun and interactive activities such as “Emotion Detective,” building workshops, creative skits and more!

It’s safety first for beginners as you learn the basics of proper horse care, behavior and the tack (equipment) you need. Once you’ve connected with your assigned horse, it’s on to walking, steering, trotting and halting for you and your four-legged friend!

Intermediate riders develop more confidence in understanding your horse and how to be a better leader. You’ll learn about nutrition and equestrian first aid, as well as spending more time developing your riding skills.

BASEBALL CAMP Boys • Ages 7-18

FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS CAMPJune 10-13, 2019 • 9 a.m.-2 p.m. • $150

This day camp offers personal and group instruction in all phases of the game of baseball. Our knowledgeable and energetic staff provides proper instruction and drills to enhance the skill level of each individual. Campers are instructed in fundamentals including: hitting, pitching, infield, outfield, catching, base running, bunting, cut-offs and relays, rundowns and sliding. Games will be played to emphasize the techniques learned in daily instruction.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL CAMPS Ages 8-15

FUNDAMENTALS CAMPJune 17-20, 2019 • 8:30-11 a.m. • $80

This camp emphasizes the fundamentals of basketball. Each day there will be games and competitions during which campers practice the skills that they have learned. Competitions take place all week in age and skill appropriate groups. A hustle award is given at the end of each camp. The intent is to make camp as competitive as possible while still emphasizing the fundamentals of the game.

SHOOTING AND BALL HANDLING CAMPJune 17-20, 2019 • noon-2 p.m. • $70

This camp provides instruction for players of all skill levels. Shooting and ball handling techniques are emphasized to each camper. Participants are exposed to new drills that can be used on their own to continue skill development. Shooting instruction will include learning the basics of shooting properly, creating your own shot, quick release shooting and finishing moves. Ball handling instruction includes creation of space from defenders, change of direction skills and dribble penetration for effective scoring and passing opportunities.

SOFTBALL CAMPS Girls • Ages 9-14

FUNDAMENTAL SKILLS CAMPJune 25-27, 2019 • 8:30 a.m.-noon • $75

This camp covers all aspects of the game of fast-pitch softball. Instruction is provided in the areas of pitching, hitting, running, bunting, fielding, throwing, catching, infield and outfield positional play as well as conditioning. In addition to improving technical skills, the camp is designed to improve the tactical knowledge of each camper.

VOLLEYBALL CAMPS Girls • Ages 8-14

FUNDAMENTALS CAMPJuly 8-10, 2019 • 8:30-11 a.m. • $70July 8-10, 2019 • 12:30-3 p.m. • $70

This three-day camp emphasizes the skills and fundamentals necessary to be a successful volleyball player at all levels. The only requirements for players are a good attitude and work ethic!

• Cass Gym is located on the northeast side of the LLCC-Springfield campus.

• Concessions are available for baseball and boys’ basketball camps only.

• Refund policy – all camps are non-refundable.• Walk-ins are welcome.• There is an additional $20 fee for

LLCC head coach of that sport with help from his/her assistants and players.
