Today, 4-H is the largest

Explore all the fun that hands-on learning can be! Experience 4-H through science, communications,

team-play and building friendships. Lunch & snacks included.

Learn how to rig your fishing line, bait a hook, learn about fish native to this area and to Iowa. Eat a grilled dinner and, of course, go fishing!

4th-12th Grade Youth Grey’s landing near Castana, FREE

Junior 4-H camp June 29-30, 9:00a.m.—9:00 a.m

Camp Nebowa, near Onawa

A summer classic! Stay overnight in cabins with your friends. Hands-on education,

outdoor games, canoeing, swimming. Activities led by the Sr. 4-H members of the County 4-H

Council. Meals & snacks included.

Babysitting Workshop June 14 & 15 8:30-3:30 p.m.

4th-6th Grade Youth $10, Mo Co Extension Office

Hands-on instruction to help students make decisions and take on the important

responsibility of babysitting. Learn about growth and development of babies, toy safety, play ideas, business expectations, first aid and

CPR. Lunch & snacks included.

Welding & Woodworking Workshop

June 1, 9:00a.m.—3:00 p.m.

4th-12th Grade Youth, $10

Monona County Iron in Mapleton, IA and Turin

Western IA Jr. Camp June 11-14 Gretna, NE

5th & 6th Grade Youth $200 (Registration Due May 15)

Any youth interested in showing swine or swine production should plan to attend. Get hands-on

with the pigs, learn about meat quality, and more. A fun quiz bowl with prizes will also take

place.

Take a ride on the “WILD” side and meet youth from across the region. Experience 4-H camp traditions, a new zip line course, swimming,

outdoor camping basics, huge water slide, Ga-Ga Ball, crafts and so much more!

Explore hands-on welding and woodworking. Monona County Iron in Mapleton is a full-service welding and manufacturing shop. You will weld

and see equipment demonstrations including the new Jetstream system. The afternoon will

include using woodworking tools and equipment at a 4-H leader’s shop near Turin. Only hard-

sold, closed-toed shoes, jeans and long sleeves will be accepted. Other safety equipment will be provided to you. Bring a sack lunch! Meet at Monona Co Iron in Mapleton, Pick up in Turin.
