Glucose into HMF
In each reactor 20 mg ofcatalyst and 2 mL of a 5%wglucose solution have beencharged and heated at 423 Kfor 3 h. At the end of thereaction, the solution has beenfiltered and analyzed usingHPLC equipped with a BioradHPX87H column (60 °C) and aRI detector.

The glucose may be converted into HMFin the range of 10-16%w, dependingfrom i) the flow, ii) the startingconcentration of the glucose and iii) thetemperature. In all cases we haveobtained a selectivity higher than 95%:the residence time has a key role.
